When will we start taking Victor seriously?

He's already got me convinced, I was surprised he didn't start today to be honest. Naismith was so poor out on the right tonight, i couldn't wait for victor to come on.

Im impressed with the attitude improvement also, he's stopped throwing himself on the floor whining and started using his size and power like he should be. Another point is that the ball sticks to him now where it never used too, he's more aware of players around him and he's more often than not choosing the right pass at the right time. Tonights goal was a lovely little run to the near post, which he wouldn't have done a year ago.

If he keeps improving his play and attitude then he could become a good player.

Good post, he is showing signs of maturing a bit. He's never going to be anything remarkable but he's slowly but surely becoming a more important part of the squad.

Gotta be starting ahead of Naismith, GOT TO BE. Can he keep up that level of performance when he starts though? Let's see, he's definitely earnt his place in the team.

He's bog average for me, but he's decent in 20 minute spells. at the end of the day, he's at his best when he can use a bit of strength against already tired defenders. we all like it when he scores late winners, but let's not get ****ing childish and excited at what he does, cos we all know, he'll be out for 6 weeks in a month or so! again.....

I'll admit I rated Vic until his injury but then lost faith in the lad when he returned, I thought that horror tackle had finished him off mentally therefore he wouldn't make it as a top footballer. I'm glad to admit I was wrong and that became evident second half of last season when he became the supersub he is now. It was always a question of mentality with Vic and it seems he's conquered his demons and is developing into the player we all knew he could be, he's not there quite yet but it will come in time.

I liked Vic when he was a young player coming through for us and thought he had a lot of ability, after the Nolan injury though he was pretty poor for a large period of time but he has scored 11 in his last 28 games for us which is a great return considering probably over half of those appearances are off the bench.

Is this goal enough now?

I must admit despite his fantastic record for the past year, every time he scored a goal I couldn't help feeling it would be his last one.

Like this form is pure fluke considering the fact he couldn't hit a barge pole before 2011.

There is still many fans who think he has poor attitude and/or should be sold for funds, or at least their was in the summer.

But surely we have a very good player on our hands now?

Would have to agree. I was never a Vic fan but I've been impressed with his work ethic this season and was delighted to see him score today. Thought he was great against Swansea this season too. Only thing I would say is that out of Felli and Naismith he has by far the worst chemistry with Jelavic. The goal tonight was great but in general I don't think they play well together. Based on current form, maybe Felli and Vic should play up front and Jelavic should be rested? *Takes cover in anticipation for violent responses to the contrary*

He has done really well. My concern with him still is that his attitude is not quite right. Against Chelsea it worked well how he was switching between the forward line and the left flank to begin with but he seemed to fade. It might have been tiredness or how the game panned out generally, but I feel that we only get bursts of what he's capable rather than a full game. Very often when he starts matches he makes little impact at all. I'm not sure whether he's trying to pace himself or whether he feels like he's done his job in earning a start and that he can afford to switch off. If we can get the best out of him he could be a huge asset for us.
