What Carlo needs to change

It's central midfield that is crucial. We didn't have players on Sunday that were prepared to keep trying to find spaces to receive the ball and relieve the pressure on the defence from Liverpool's lung busting attackers.

I don't know how this will go down, but Emre Can at Juventus is looking for a move. He is a mercenary and left Liverpool after his contract expired, but he is a decent footballer and has a good engine (not a great injury record though). He's still young <25 I think. If he's a cheap transfer fee, he'd be worth a gamble.

I'd take a centre half who can read a game over someone who's more physical and stronger in the air, a la Michael Keane.

We do need a CB. It's only worth going and getting one that is top notch though. Koulibaly, though getting on in years (what is he 28?), would be the one to get. Just look at the transformative effect Van Dijk had with Liverpool in just 2 years. Carlo's connections could get him...

I think another mercenary midfielder might not be the best idea at the moment, but he can't be worse than the Snail.

Emre Can and Koulibaly would both be big upgrades on the current squad options.

Big challenge is getting either. Think both would have multiples clubs chasing them.Clubs who could probably offer European football in 2020/21.

Would be a massive achievement to get either of the 2, never mind both.

Introduce pace and youth into the team. Look at Leicester they won the league with a old experienced team and have finished below us every season since (I think) then they’ve re built a young pacey team in that time which is exciting to watch and are 2nd in the league. They also give chances to players from the u23 team choudary, Chilwell,Barnes. We don’t seem to have a game plan or way of playing ( I’m hoping don Carlo will change that)
