What Carlo needs to change

some fans reaction to ever loss worries me. I think they could turn on Don Carlo very quick if he doesn't perform a miracle and get a tune out of the current squad

The squads a mess due to the turn over of managers and various different styles of play that each has tried. Its going to take time to fix this so got to look at the squad in a number of groups and see how it can be developed over time.

Long term (players to keep)
Richalison, Gomes, Digne

Players that can still develop
DCL, Kean, Gbam? Kenny? Mina

Squad players Medium term future and need replacing with better quality
Coleman, Holgate, Davis, Iwobi, delph and Bernard

Squad Players Short term future and need shipping out ASAP
Sigy, Schnederlin, Keane, Tosun

Players that have no future at all and need to go now
Sandro, mirallas, niasse, besic and bolasie

its going to take a bit of time to sort this mess out.

The obvious problem from the weekend was the none existent centre midfield. neither of them protected the defence or got in to space to other themselves to receive passes from our defenders and left them under constant pressure. not many of the players performed but centre mid is the engine of the team that links up the play and when they went missing for the second half it prevented anyone else being able to perform unfortunately we don't have anyone else to come In so are immediate signings for this window should be 1 or 2 centre midfield players. maybe 1 permanent and one loan and then see how things look in the summer with gomes and Gbam back in contention.

I wonder what happened to Schneiderlin because he was awesome at Southampton he put in the tough tackles and certainly was not a coward. Looks like his move to United ruined him and we were the idiots who took him from there.
He's always been here just for the money. No drive or ambition. Everton as a club have to take some responsibility here. We have been for too long a club with no drive or ambition, in effect the perfect home for slugs like morgan.

Time to break out the table salt.

EVERYTHING !! The poison within the squad is evident , Carlo will hopefully get a few of his mindset / winners in this January hopefully shift some of the spineless mercenaries that pit on the royal blue shirt then start to build a team in the summer

He needs to make the players aggressive on the pitch and make them run far more than they have so far as a bare minimum.

First 18 months Martinez was here we saw that composure.

I fully expect Ancelotti to achieve at least that much in any player he entrusts with a blue shirt once he gets his feet under the table properly here.

First things first: get two in this month. Get to the end of the season and start hacking through this squad, ditching as many as possible and add another four in ASAP. Then work pre-season on what he wants the team to do.
If only it was that easy mate.
We'll find again that the level of player that wants to sign for us will be either Top 4 rejects or 'older' pros looking a payday (james sicknote rodriguez)..imo Carlo needs to find the club an identity on the pitch and build that into the club, young hungry players with energy and work rate to improve.
This could be a massive period in our history with the the investment and new ground, and an opportunity to rebuild EFC.

That’s a constant; taking players who’ve failed at bigger clubs —Walcott, Gomes, Digne, Delph etc. — and for whom Everton is a caught retirement home rather than scouting players from lower league clubs or from abroad who are hungry and still on the upswing. The recruitment profile has to change.

For instance there’s talk of bringing in James, who’s been found wanting at Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. He is technically very good and would improve the squad from that perspective, but he’d also be seeking huge wages whilst not improving, and arguably worsening the chronic problem of lack of pace in midfield.

The club’s most pressing need is to upgrade scouting and recruitment so that in two or three years’ time when Ancelotti is properly settled in a batch of skilful, quick and tactically sound youngsters such as the ones fielded by Liverpool yesterday and Leeds today is ready for promotion.

The last three years has had the effect of making Everton supporters believing that if you dont spend loads of cash for a player then that player must be rubbish.

That's a malaise the fans need to shake off. There are plenty of decent buys across Europe. You can bet that Ancelotti and his contacts will know who they are. He spent £80M on 8 players at Napoli.

We'll have to write off this season and the next before we see a squad moulded in Ancelotti's image. We waste a season each time we sack a manager.

Can't believe you included Holgate in that list.
