Still fuming about this and to add insult to injury the adverts on this page are advertising west ham products. As if getting done by that scrotewhiff Adrian wasn't bad enough

Just switched on the TV and up srpang a channel FA CuP Goals, Showed all the goals from last nights games but in our game only the last 2 pens. No interviews just kept repeating the goals and other incidents like the red card job, Goodness knows what channel it was, was on Virgin.

Pen shoot outs are a lottery and there are more positives to take last night than negatives - also that Ref was so biased against us - to play such a long period with 10 men and come back to lead playing better football - ie more passing than W Hams hoof ball if we had won it would have been well deserved, but I reiterate a pen shoot out can go anyway!

I was basing my opinion on this season not the last couple of games, all of which i attended so have first hand knowledge.

Over the season we have been weak in the middle, we have leaked more goals now than all last seaon, and if Lukaku had support his nine would be more, look at the stats for players that have scored more goals and check what support they receive????

I know we all have our opinion but giving half baked stats does not support the season long argument, how many wins in the last dozen games? How may clean sheets in the last dozen games, how many ridiculous substitutions in the last dozen games?

We could both go on and on for our differing opinions, unfortunately out of two cups at basically the first hurdle and struggling massively in the league does not lie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

An upturn of form in your opinion is two draws and a loss in 3 games?

Just because I haven't attended doesn't mean my knowledge is any less than yours. I agreed with you that over the whole season we haven't been good enough but I'm looking at the positives, which is the fight, quick paced attacking play, passion and energy showed all over the pitch which I would say yes, this is an up turn of form in the last couple of weeks. We're improving, I'm not suggesting we're the finished article.

I'm not sure what you're getting at with the 'half baked stat' remark.

I've not seen any mention of the penalty shout we had for a foul on Mirallas. I was level with the side of the penalty area and thought it was inside, although I've not seen any replays of it. Anyone know any more? If it was a pen then I think we would have gone on to win the game.

Nothing to do with opinions actually mate. Stone cold facts. We lost the 4 games prior to that and played awfully. 2 draws and an narrow defeat coupled with far better performances are undoubtedly an upturn.

I know where you're coming from though. It's a bit like going out with a vampire after breaking up with a werewolf.
Talk about disregarding that old adage , once bitten, twice shy lol

Amused by the press love in for west ham at the mo.

Carroll had a "blinder". Noble "dazzled". Adrian a "bargain" buy.

All i recall is Carroll's ineffectiveness. Adrian having a shocker with a free kick. And Noble apparently controlling a midfield that allowed a 10 man side to go 2.1 up.

Just me I guess.

Clearly inside the area mate. The linesman flagged the foul but the ref was in the perfect position to see that it was in the area.

What do you expect the fans to do? We showed some effort and fight last night that has been missing for the past two months (excluding the City and first West Ham game where we also put in a good shift).

The truth is that we are no longer the club we once were. We're now a more glamorous version of Villa or Sunderland. We are still in Europe which is great in my opinion, but we are now without a trophy in 20 years. Some of our fans need to face up to that and accept it.

I'm hoping we can push on from here and for me the most crucial thing for the club is keeping our best players in the summer ready to completely turn it around next season and go for what we should have been going for this season. The top 4 and a trophy.

I like your optimism.

However every other team has improved while we have gone backwards.
We look a shadow of a team, toothless in attack, and fragile in defence. Looks like we are trying to turn around the Titanic but the amount of times we lose the ball has to be addressed or were not going anywhere fast.

We play like a man trying to blow bubbles in a Hurricane.

Well we will see in the next month or two if the players can turn it around. Hopefully we will.

Thanks for the clarification. Confirms what I thought at the time. I got the impression that the ref just didn't want to know. I assume the linesman had said something through the mouth-pieces they use now, but it wasn't until the linesman started waving his flag and our players and fans complained to the ref to go and talk to him that he did anything. Once he indicated that he'd been persuaded by the linesman that there'd been an offence I was stunned not to see him point to the spot.

Just a thought: I was watching the game in the pub on LFCtv (or BT Sport) and apparently Martinez was struggling with officials to get a sub on before the shoot out. The crap, biased channel never shown who was coming on, but I wonder if it could have been Naismith being replaced? If so, it was another blow by the officials, along with the yellow cards, ignoring the elbows, the pen etc. that helped us to lose the game

According to Everton radio was Garbutt they were trying to get on, no idea who he was meant to replace though.
