West Ham v Everton: FA Cup 3rd round replay - Jan 13, 2015

I was basing my opinion on this season not the last couple of games, all of which i attended so have first hand knowledge.

Over the season we have been weak in the middle, we have leaked more goals now than all last seaon, and if Lukaku had support his nine would be more, look at the stats for players that have scored more goals and check what support they receive????

I know we all have our opinion but giving half baked stats does not support the season long argument, how many wins in the last dozen games? How may clean sheets in the last dozen games, how many ridiculous substitutions in the last dozen games?

We could both go on and on for our differing opinions, unfortunately out of two cups at basically the first hurdle and struggling massively in the league does not lie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

An upturn of form in your opinion is two draws and a loss in 3 games?

I'm sorry to say it but my fellow Evertonians are the biggest excuse makers in football possibly world sport, why can't some of them just admit we're shyte instead of bringing up cringe worthy mad stats to try to prove any different, the way some of our supporters have been talking about last night it's as though we were nearly involved in a giant slaying, absolutely shameful

No idea. Baffled me that. Was in the listings, but not on the box. Weird

I assume it was because two of the games went to penalties, and they didn't have time to do the highlights?

Amused by the press love in for west ham at the mo.

Carroll had a "blinder". Noble "dazzled". Adrian a "bargain" buy.

All i recall is Carroll's ineffectiveness. Adrian having a shocker with a free kick. And Noble apparently controlling a midfield that allowed a 10 man side to go 2.1 up.

Just me I guess.

Tbf, at times we made him look like Zlatan! :o

Miralles foul I'm sure was in the box, like a metre and a half from what I remember, and for the free kick he scored the foul was in the box as well imo.

Overall tho, I thought we did really well, especially down to 10 men. Second yellow looked really cheap, but McGeady had been throwing himself around recklessly all game. Thought Joel did pretty well. If he keeps playing like this I think he should remain in goal when Howard returns. Support was pretty good. Funny how we never get through a whole rendition of Grand Old Team! Anyone who was there know who the guy was who kept trying to get 'Bobby Moore was a homo' chants going? Everyone was silent every time he started it up!

Had a nightmare getting into the ground - got there just before kick off, but had to collect my ticket from the box office, there must have been a couple hindred ppl there doing the same. Fair play to the ticket office manager though, he came out and was patrolling the queue, talking to fans and taking their abuse!

Had a chat with a few West Ham fans in the Chicken shop opposite the station on the way home. Good lads, told 'em they'd better beat Bristol or we'd be really p*ssed! :)

Just a thought: I was watching the game in the pub on LFCtv (or BT Sport) and apparently Martinez was struggling with officials to get a sub on before the shoot out. The crap, biased channel never shown who was coming on, but I wonder if it could have been Naismith being replaced? If so, it was another blow by the officials, along with the yellow cards, ignoring the elbows, the pen etc. that helped us to lose the game

According to Everton radio was Garbutt they were trying to get on, no idea who he was meant to replace though.

Yeah him and McAleny where warming up for a few mins before, and Martinez told one of them (couldn't tell who from where I was) to strip off, but it was only 30 or so seconds before the ref blew. When Robles took that last goal kick a couple of the players near the sideline were trying to get his attention, but I guess he didn't see...

Just wondered if one of those had been lined up as a pen taker? . . . then again, if my aunt had been a bloke . . Etc

What is shameful about taking the positives out of a match that we lost 9-8 on penalties after playing ~ hour with 10 men?

Don't you think there has been a noticeable improvement in our performaces in our last three games, especially in effort and playing for the shirt, than the three games prior to that?

We're either the best team in the world when we're winning or the worst when we're losing according to some fans.

No room for having a balanced opinion these days it would seem.

No, I don't see any positives about being losers, sorry, and what good is slight improvements if we still can't beat anybody

Fair enough if you feel that way mate but no need to insult others who don't agree with your view.

Teams rarely change things round in one game, it is usually a process of a few games with improvements. Perhaps we are doing that, perhaps not but I for one was getting fed up with being down about the team. i prefer feeling a bit of optimism even if it eventually turns out bad - I could get hit by a bus in the meantime anyhow.

Probably because we weren't [Poor language removed] v West Ham and anyone without faulty cognition would say as much.

There is plenty of need, we are Everton, how are we supposed to have proper aspirations when people keep accepting mediocrity, infact, not mediocrity, downright shyteness and being proud of it and making silly excuses for it all the flipping time

Not quite sure how my posts on a football forum, either positive or negative, are going to make a blind bit of difference to whether we get relagated or win a treble.
