Point to remember is....we have done nothing for ages, and a win by any means lifts spirits and confidence, and will bring better performances in the next game.

Light a fat one, chill out for a couple of weeks, and enjoy our first win in far too long.

I am thinking of Inchy v Oxford. But for some reason I just don't feel like celebrating. Fairly deflated to be honest - don't know why.

Should we all be excited now?

We should have cruised it once we went 2-0 up.
It just goes to show how much is to do with the head for both sides.

THAT... is where Moyes is failing this year.

Get a psychiatrist in NOW.

Anyone else have problems with the site crashing today during the match?

Nope. All fine at my end.:D

Yeah I had problems here too with the site

I think I get your point. While I had the game as a draw, the moment we scored I expected our normal win over West Ham, irrespective of how well they played.

I'm just glad taht we kept up the tradition, and we were a tad lucky, but you also need luck in games. A more experienced forward on thier side would probably have led to a defeat.

Exactly, it's a relief more than anything.

But outside of the game we have players getting injured by sneezing, Moyes saying that we won't be buying any players, loan or whatever, supposed to find out about Kirkby,

On the pitch we have 1 striker who can make a difference, but he's injured every other week.

On the right side we have problems, big problems.

We have big expensive players who are not justifying their big fees.

We are tactically inept. We don't surprise opposition defenders by unleashing new young players.

We have no leader on the pitch.

The only positive we have is that we have been very lucky today, and I suppose with all the injuries we are due a bit of luck, but if all we are looking for is the confidence that this win may give us, frankly I think we are clutching at straws.

An awful lot of work to do.

A good defensive display helped out by some real dodgy missed chances and some optimistic shots (diamonti). Hines will be a good player for them, but if they'd pushed Parker up further he could have damaged us real bad.

As it was we held onto a game which neutrals may have said West Ham should have got something out of it.

We still lack that killer pass in the final third, and Gosling, goal apart had a torrid game. Felli for me was the man of the match.

Thought we were just as bad defensively today as we had been for ages.

Hibbert marking space in the box as west ham players stand around behind him.

And Distin and Yobo must either hate each other or smell really bad cause they didn't play as a central defensive unit all bloody game. The amount of times west ham floated a ball from deep through the middle for a runner in space because Yobo and Distin were too far apart, one deep and one advanced was ridiculous.

Luckily nothing came from it most of the time but we certainly lived dangerously.

We also struggled to keep for the ball for longer than 30 seconds, very poor amateurish stuff.

Yakubu seems to be improving every game, great hold up play and vision for Goslings goal. Fellaini was pants with the ball and reverted back to the crap tackler of last season but seemed to actually be trying today.

Heitinga was useful as well by putting himself about and made some good passes.

Howard was his usual solid self and made some good saves when we needed him.

Everyone else wasn't worth mentioning.

But damn glad we got the win and hopefull we will get some players back fit during the international break.

My Ratings:

Howard 7: Had a good game today. Was pretty composed throughout and made some good catches and stops.

Hibbert 4: Not great, has to be said. Stuffing up what should have been a routine clearence didn't help us at all there.

Yobo 6: Composed enough in the first half, shakey in the second

Distin 6: See Yobo

Baines 6: His crossing was poor again, but defensively sound enough

Gosling 6: Gotta give him credit, he wasn't bad. Very well taken goal too.

Heitinga 8: My MOTM. His best position is CM for me, he's beginning to remind me of Gravesen/Carsley when they were on form. Solid in the tackle, which is also refreshing to see.

Rodwell 7: Did well, composed enough and played it simple. Hopefully he starts finding his early season form again.

Cahill 6: Again out of position and struggled, but he worked hard and did some good things.

Fellaini 5: Resonably composed with the ball but seemed to revert back to last seasons foul-fest. He really needs to cut that out and stop complaining.

Saha 7: Fantastic goal and did well for much of the time on his own. Him with a 100% Yak upfront will be a mouth watering partnership.

Yak 5: Still clearly not 100%. I know he was never the paciest of strikers but he's been off the boil ever since he came back. His footwork is still pretty good though.

Neill 6: Wasn't up to a lot for the time he was on, but then didn't do anything wrong either.

jo was my man of the match with a 9

having some technical difficulties here.

it said Hibbert put it into his own net and it was quite a goof, I haven't seen it.

Jo WAS on bench, said so.

West ham fans 'not pleased' on their match day thread.

one said 'why are we always losing to these type of teams' bloody cheek.

well F off hammers, you're probably back into relegation places anyway, enjoy the rest of your season.

Looking forward if tha is the right choice of words to Hibbert's display tonight and what really happened with their goal, well done blues anyway.
