Wenger and Arteta Partnership?

‘Worth a punt’. lol

I’d maybe say that for a player costing £5m but not our manager.

And no. He’s past it unfortunately and Arteta hasn’t got the experience.

I think Wenger record of 17 trophies in 20 years is something not to be ignored, recent FA Cup wins and Top 4 regularly, yes he may be a spent force at Arsenal, but with a fresh start and Arteta as his Assistant, why not. What we would not give for half of that Trophy Haul? I am not advocating 100% but surely a proven Prem experienced manager to Blood a hungry Arteta rather than an uproven Fonseca or Silva?

And yes it was a Daily Star quote originally but yes it is now showing on other sports channels etc.

All I want is Everton to be challenging and winning trophies and with us in Europe every year too. Once we start to win it will become a habit and why not give this combo a try?

I was lucky enough to be around in the late 60's, too young to remember most of the late 60's admittedly and than again in the 80's I want us to have that again, personally, don't care who does it for us, as long as we do it again!

And a patchy season in the league this season underlining Arsenal's gradual decline over recent years. You could point at Arsenals patchy league record against the sides with whom they are supposed to be competing. Another thing to point at is a number of players who have left Arsenal and then made remarks that could be seen as critical of his qualities as a coach and tactician.

3 FA Cups is a good haul and I'd love for Everton to win it again. But it's a knock-out competition against a widely varying standard of opposition who view it with a widely varying degree of priority. Roberto Di Matteo won it, and the CL, with Chelsea and Martinez at Wigan. Would you rate them as better managers than those who have yet to win anything of note in the English game?

Trophies are everything. No one remembers half decent league campaigns unless you win it. Fluking the cup once can happen but winning it 3 times in 5 years and 7 times in his career shows that he knows how to navigate cup competitions, something no Everton manager since Royle has managed even once.

One thing that people seem to be missing. We complain at the moment about the money that Sam and Koeman are/were getting payed, well Wenger is on a hell of a lot more at Arsenal, he would want some serious money to even entertain the thought of coming here.

Sounds ridiculous to say, given our current situation, but I wouldn't want Wenger. He's been a great manager, but his time has passed. I don't think he'd improve our defending at corners!

Remember in the summer, when we were spunking loads of money ?
Just imagine if someone came on here and posted that by the end of the season, Koeman would be sacked, Sam Alladyce would be in charge of Everton and facing the sack..and that Arsene Wenger and Arteta double act would have a thread that was causing a debate ?

Everton are just an utter, weird, shambles of a club right now, and, I can't see how its getting fixed either.
