Wenger and Arteta Partnership?

I still think Wenger knows what he's doing on the pitch, its the bidness side that has gotten arsenal to where they are today.

Wenger
1. doesn't like to spend megabucks for players
2. sells all his best players to City, Man U and Chelsea (good gawd fam if you are going too sell world class players get them out the friggin prem blud).

Everton
1. we have no money - Koenman spent all the money
2. no one wants our best players

this really is the perfect fit for both of us

Said who? We were one of the biggest spenders again in January, after Koeman had left.

These Arteta shouts just baffle me

There's a million miles between coaching and managing - otherwise we may as well have given Ferguson a shot

What happens if he's out of his depth? Would it not make sense for us to be confident that whoever we appoint is comfortable in a management role?

It's a massive, massive gamble and the only reasons I can see that people think we should do it are that a) he used to play for Everton and b) he's worked under Wenger and Pep so that must mean he'll be good

Absolute insanity

Wenger - the only role I could see being right would be as DoF, but even then he's never done it before. Makes me very sceptical

He is still winning pots as recently as last season, though.

In fact they have won the F.A. Cup three times in the past four seasons.

Not saying I want Arsene, just that his pot winning days are not confined to the early years of the new century :(

I think he has been harshly treated by Arsenal fans. For most of the past 10 years, he was following the remit given to him by the board, by finishing in the top 4 champions league places. And he won 3 FA cups in the past 4 seasons as you say.Not bad going for a so called has been eh?

And then there was that side he built, that went an entire league season unbeaten.Sure it would probably be better, that we go for a younger, more up and coming candidate as manager. But i wouldn't be as quick to look down my nose on Wenger, as some others on here.

Given that there doesn’t seem to be much management talent around and the same old stale faces getting linked to all the big jobs, I’m all in for a bit of Arteta. Worth the gamble, can’t do any worse than Fat Head, will play football the right way too. Make it so.

Why not, you never know until you try. It's a complete lottery with managers, kick a fuss about who you want but until in the hot seat nobody knows.

‘Worth a punt’. lol

I’d maybe say that for a player costing £5m but not our manager.

And no. He’s past it unfortunately and Arteta hasn’t got the experience.

Pep had loads of experience when Barcelona gave him the job didn't he, a whole season with Barca B.

...but he's got badges...maybe even two.....

If we were somehow able to get Wenger for a couple of seasons so he could bring through a replacement, I'd probably prefer his assistant to be Gareth Barry. Always struck me as the type for management rather than Arteta.

What about Big Dunc as manager?...he bleeds blue. Arteta can be his 2ic and I'd love to see Timmy Cahill get a senior role as well.

We'd win the league
