Lets put it this way, stick £300 million effectively into a playing squad of a Russian team and I don't think you'd be far off getting a side thats competitive and can focus upon European success.
The Russian league has a 5+6 ruling whereby there has to be 5 players eligible for the national team in the first 11, I think most leagues would really struggle to produce teams that will succeed in Europe under that restriction.

I don’t think so

The Liverpool team that just reached the champions league final had oxlaide chamberlain, Henderson, Trent Arnold Alexander, Robertson, Gomez, Lallana. Sturridge, solanke, Milner, clyne

If he buys Charlton rather than Everton I will eat my own legs! Literally zero point.

Not even a good try from the RS mirror.

The jump from championship to prem is about 200m isn’t it tho? Much more than the 24-50m from us jumping into the CL. It’s also far more likely and probably cheaper. He could put 300m of players into us and still not get CL. He could put 50m into Charlton and could end up in the prem

He could also put 50m into Charlton and then be the richest man in the world to be sitting in a no mark stadium watching 2nd division football for five years.

given that Moshiri has increased his shares today to 68.6% and is due to increase it again to 77.2% before the end of 2019, it looks as though Usmanov is not coming:dodgy:

I can only see him being involved now as backer for the stadium, if that ever happens.

Or he could acquire partnership of Moshiri’s shares, as they had at Arsenal with R&W holdings (or whatever it was called)

Alternatively, he’s been here since Moshiri first bought into the club.

Why is it linked to him not coming mate ?

Moshiri owns Everton via a holdings company - I'm not saying it will ever happen, but all it would take would be for Usmanov to buy half of the shares in the holdings company

This is how their partnership in Arsenal worked, and indeed Moshiri coming here was facilitated by Usmanov buying Moshiri's shares in their holding company there

All Usmanov has to do now is buy half of Blue Heaven Holdings and he officially owns half the shares as the shares are bought under that company.

Not sure Moshiri wants Usmanov as a co-owner. This is his project and he may not want to share it or play second fiddle to Alisher. The Mayor's comments that he thought it unlikely the club would take up the financing offer for the stadium makes me think it far more likely that USM Holdings will be the main backers for the stadium, particularly as it is Usmanov's vehicle for investment in iron, steel, media and internet companies... all quite relevant really - and he could still invest in his own football team here or elsewhere.
