Usmanov

Oddly I seen a guy on Twitter say Charlton a while a go. Shortly after Usmanov sold his shares in Arsenal.

He didn't have a prolific account or anything and seemed to be the only person to say it when I was looking. I'll see if I can dig it out.

If there's one source more untrustworthy on this issue than the mirror I've yet to come across it.

It even makes a point of and deciding against buying into top-flight Everton

Its also written by Darren Lewis who its known is an actual real red hot Liverpool fan rather than one who just likes them and naturally would have enjoyed writing such stuff.

He uses words like 'considering' and offers no substantive evidence at all, not even a tiny morsel, its just like a 'possible' or 'maybe' in transfer speculation, it means nothing, could all be on the flimsiest of evidence and won't come back on them as they never said 'would'.

It 'could' be right but 'probably' not.

The Mirror at the best of times is to be taken with a big dose of scepticism and this isn't it at its best.

Other papers all quote 'The Mirror' as their source, which means Darren ' i support Liverpool' Lewis.

I suggest you don't browse through the social media take on this development unless you want your head to spin. I've just seen someone from Cyprus suggest he should invest in Newcastle instead because they have a better stadium, better fans and better potential.

Tbf Newcastle are a very feasible possibility although I suspect far harder to obtain given the current owners unwillingness to sell at a realostic price, Usmanov could give Ashley all his demands but may find it less palatable paying over the market value and easier and more attractive investing elsewhere, but Newcastle is a very possible target imo, it wouldn't be at all surprising.

He's not buying into Charlton, he is a man in his mid sixties. Look how long it's taken City without FFP rules and an owner who has sunk billions into it to get anywhere near being a champions league winning side. To get Charlton to a premier league winning side you are talking 10+ years.

I’m not arsed where he goes officially, he’s clearly indirectly funding us anyway.

We clearly have no money worries at all in recent years and I have no doubt whatsoever Usman....sorry....Mr Moshiri is going to fund whatever aspect of the stadium we have to stump up along with continuing to fund a spending that only 2 years ago seemed beyond our wildest dreams.

Ah, look who joined the party, the ol’ red Echo.

They refer to The Mirror story, of course, as if they’d do any proper journalistic work. Doesn’t stop them putting out a snippet to make it seem like he’s bid for them to get them clicks, though.

Absolutely hate that rag of a local paper. We should ban it.
