Usmanov bought shares in Arsenal
Usmanov gave some shares to Moshiri
Usmanov wanted a representative on the board of Arsenal and some control , he never got it
He wanted to create a legacy at a club
Usmanov bought those shares back off Moshiri for cash
Moshiri used that cash to buy a stake in Everton when the Yanks came sniffing
Usmanov said he would never sell his Arsenal shares
Usmanov bid for Kronke’s shares at above market price thus putting a higher value on his own shares
Usmanov said he would sell his shares in Arsenal but not to Kronke
Usmanov sold to Kronke and made a vast profit
Moshiri bought the Liver Building in partnership with Corestate in Corestate’s first venture into the British Market
Everton moved a lot of their headquarters into the Liver building
Moshiri wants to build a stadium on the docks in an area that is set for massive development and therefore massive profit
Moshiri wants to borrow money off the Council and give them 7m a year free money
in order to ingratiate the club and himself with the council ( the last bit is my opinion )
Usmanovs stepson owns a major building and developement company in Moscow
Moshiri has said that himself and Usmanov do everything together
Usmanov has said that if Moshiri asks for help he will give it as they are friends and buisness partners
Moshiri sits on the board of Usmanovs main company
Moshiri works for Usmanov as an accountant and buisness advisor
Moshiri has got the vast majority of his wealth through Usmanov
Usmanov has invested in Everton through USM Finch Farm already
The above are the facts
Dots on a piece of paper if you will
As @roydo says it’s how the dots join up that will determine the final outcome
Usmanov May come on board and buy the majority shareholding
He may buy a minority shareholding
He may or may not help with cheap stadium financing
He may continue to sponsor the club through USM
He may buy some other club and have a finger in 2 pies
One thing is for certain these lads don’t become billionaires and keep their money by telling part time journalists with the Daily Mirror /Echo their plans
The facts are there , we can all make our own conclusions from them , but until Usmanov does something publicly no one except those in his inner circle will know anything
I know which way I’m thinking
To be fair - if this was a horse race and you studied the form - once it's crossed the line you'd wonder why you didn't lump on even if it was an odds on favorite.

I know which way I’m thinking[/QUOTe great post everything written here is fact not hear say or some blag ITK trying to make something out of nothing .would mind some of our more negative posters on here replying to the above post ?

A very sensible analysis if I may say.
I read it and was going to say that it seemed a very considered appraisal of the situation. Glad to see the number of likes for @catcherintherye 's original post - not to be all smug and koppite-y - but it warms my Evertonian cockles to know that Evertonians can appreciate an intelligent post when we see it.

Interesting stuff.

Also, surely it would make no sense for him to invest in another English club aside from Everton.

You'd imagine his finances would bring Charlton back to PL sharpish and put him in competition with his business partner, Moshiri.

If it's not to be Everton, then surely investing elsewhere (there were links to Milan I believe? ) would be more likely?

Either way, I hope it's us, if only to witness that other lot pretend not to be arsed while secretly fuming lol
They wont secretly fume ... swigging bleach us a noisy way to go

My speculation would be that Usmanov and Abramovich are seeking to move money from business interests to somewhere else because of the possibility of US sanctions and likely actions from the UK government. Whether or not they will sell their expensive and multiple domestic properties I don't know.

If he does buy a football club I think it would be one of the three he mentioned in the Bloomberg interview quoted below, where he talks about a deal. (Milan?)

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...ire-mulls-new-soccer-clubs-after-arsenal-sale

'Still, Usmanov’s interest is not restricted to England. He’s a fan of several clubs on the continent, he said, including serial German champion Bayern Munich and Italian clubs A.C. Milan and A.S. Roma, who finished sixth and third respectively in the country’s Serie A league last season.

“Should there be a proposal or a possibility to invest in them with good potential returns, I would consider the deal,” he said.'

Milan he has distanced himself from. The other 2 are good shouts. He may do that. All I will say is no league on the continent has the profile and growth opportunities the PL has.

I have always wondered why a wealthy billionaire hasn't bought a Russian team and really had a go at it too. I wouldn't rule that out.

I don’t think the returns are there in the form of TV revenue and gate receipts
I can also see a lack of high profile international sponsorship being a problem
FFP means billionaires can not pump money Willie nilly into a club anymore

I agree with all of that. I just wonder if someone were to go out on a limb a bit. Maybe after the summer in Russia being broadly a success people could see opportunity?

Lets put it this way, stick £300 million effectively into a playing squad of a Russian team and I don't think you'd be far off getting a side thats competitive and can focus upon European success.

I don't think AU would do so, but it's an option.

A couple tried it in Russia not so long ago, with Anzhi and another club if I remember rightly, absolutely poured silly money in and it went nowhere. The Russian league isn't the strongest, so the sponsorship and TV revenues arent what they are in the Prem, and also, it's much more difficult to persuade players to move there, especially now.

I still think we are a prime pick for anyone who wanted a crack at it, but I'm still not 100% convinced Usmanov would want to to try, certainly not so soon, as it would only add fuel to fire over the earlier dealings him and Moshiri were accused of.

My guess is, support his friend as adviser and continue to invest in sponsorship, which is now 100% above board with selling his stake in Arsenal.
