That was discussed and seen as a possibility at the time.
An American consortium was supposedly interested at the time , however I personally do not believe one word out of Kenwright’s mouth.
It was suggested that the Moshiri deal happened with such speed that Usmanovs hand was forced by the American approach and he send his accountant and right hand man to sort things out
Forgot about that lot. I think there was another interested party, didn't they own the Kansas City FC? Really talked positively about Everton as well I recall. Thought they would have been better owners than the other group

I can’t really remember the details but there was supposedly interested parties but as I said I don’t believe a word out of Kenwrights mouth

Was it the Americans who wanted to replace Bill as part of the deal?

IIRC the Mericans wanted to fund the takeover by levering the club, Man Utd Lite if you like, and there was another group, local, who wanted to redevelop Goodison.

In hindsight, knowing what we now do re docks etc, it seems both were stalking horses for Moshiri and his boss, (maybe).

It was the same consortium that tried to buy Notts Forest last year.It was all set to go through but the deal collapsed at the very last minute I remember.

Think it was a bullet dodged for us.

Yes, well it would be a good time to invest, for British citizents, since the marked seem to stabilize. However it is mostly in London and Birmingham the foregin investers has invested.

In a Remote village i would expect little impact, although that would be my own prefrence, if i was to live some-where.
I love the English country side.

Yes, the mid term results. Let's wait for them. We shall see.

Any news on when we might expect, the mid term results?
Depends on when the financial year end starts I assume from Jan to Jan but it's in the public domain. any move will move share prices. TBH I don't see it happening anytime soon. But I'm willing to be prooved wrong

The BBC website is carrying a story about the U.S. Congress's "Putin's list" which shows, in addition to politicians in government in Russia, a list of Russian oligarchs. This is the unclassified list and implies no intention that they will be subject to sanctions. Usmanov and Abramovich are both on the list. Whether it will affect the willingness of US and European banks to do business with them is unknown.

I bet Moshiri's sweating like a glass blower's arse too.

Do they really have a choice? The two guys that you mention are two of the richest people in the world?
