Im living in England and watching the cost of living increase hourly while the people that morons elected to lead are busy fighting amongst themselves.

If I lived in Syria I wouldnt care about either of those things.

I do understand, truly, but we still have to be governed, Boris has gone (almost), and we still need a PM. Many of those who have thrown their hat in are really a waste of space or more right wing than you could imagine. Mordaunt will bring the country together if she gets it…..

Sri Lanka is on fire, I hope this isn't the beginning of something like the 'arab spring' of a decade ago. Put this in this thread because I think its linked, food and fuel exports dried up, pressure on the poorest countries. They wont be the last.

Yup him visiting Kyiv for the first time was a huge boost for Ukies as far as I can tell. Not saying it didn't help him too.

Don't kid yourself, America is much more open and acceptable by nature simply because of its history. Young nation that served for people from all over Europe to escape to better life (as perceived back then). Literally almost every family here on our (Croatian) Adriatic coast and our islands got some relative in America, all descendants of people who left for America to escape poverty in late 19th/early 20th century.

On other hand, ancient states of Europe with ancient grudges and hate are on whole other level (despite some Americans see Europe like some utopia, its anything but). Just amount of pure hate we and our neighboring nation share between each other, despite practically being same people, talking same language, same mentality, they see us as Satans and vice versa.

You can't generalise about Europe, South East Europe and particularly your area the balkans is a notorious mish mash of cultures religions and language and history which exacerbates hatred.
The ottomans and hapsburgs have a lot to answer for.

Everyone is the same, there only some who put pretty face and pretend they are better and the one who doesn't pretend. And there are certain European nations who are good at pretending, looking themselves in a mirror thinking how good and pretty they are are, but in reality, outside they are seen as lying, duplicitous scum.

We got old saying here about that here, but it wouldn't be polite to put it here

Germans on other hand you know exactly what you get, my grandfather fought against them in ww2, wounded twice, but that didn't stop him to go work there in the 1950s, and despite hate he had respect for them. They never stop, they fall and don't cry about it. Complete opposite from us on the Balkans, with our lazy mentality and still arguing who fought on which side in some battle centuries ago.
