Sorry, I’m struggling here. I posted that Russian military doctrine is by its nature designed to kill civilians and destroy civilian infrastructure. You then compared it to US doctrine in Iraq.

There is no comparison. Your resorting to whataboutery now.

Let’s keep the discussion in context and on-topic.
Military doctrine is about killing. The history of the search for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq is well documented.

They don't need to fight them back to the border. They need to hold them roughly where they are until winter then let the weather do the rest.

What's your alternative, by the way? What's the basis for negotiation that would end this?
The Winter gives the Russians the opportunity to reduce further gas supplies to Europe that could have catastrophic consequences. Also Russian troops as well as Ukrainians are very used to Winter warfare so sadly again civilians will be the losers.

What did we see the winter weather do to Russia's ability to maneuver in the start of the war? The inability to maintain their equipment and the fact that Russia has already burned through the best 25% of it's ground troops will also bite them hard.

I'm really unsure what outcome you want here? The best way to prevent civilian casualties would be for RUssian troops to stop razing the places where they live and murdering them.

I want an end to hostilities,it takes both sides for that to happen, but hey it's a real time computer simulation so it surprise/ saddens me how many people post pictures of air strikes etc as if it means their side is winning, even though history tells us there are no winners.

I think we all want an end to hostilities, but there's a large obstacle here of one side invading 25% of the other's country and refusing to leave.

It's almost like the world isn't simple.

All? Have you been reading some of the posts on this thread? And using your logic no ceasefire or peace treaty would ever have come about.
