That's very true which points to the US/Nato using Ukrainian lives to weaken their perceived enemy number one.
This I can agree with and I think that US and U.K. govts would also agree with.

What’s the alternative? For NATO to go head - head with Russia in all out war?

NATO would mince them in a couple of weeks forcing Putin to go nuclear. No thanks - the Ukes are doing just fine, give em more heavy weapons, Intel and ammo and they’ll finish the job.

Come on man.

Yes oil prices are sky high, but they also serve to push up inflation. If inflation rises then Joe public is not happy. If Joe public isn’t happy then the US govt feel the squeeze.

It’s not an ideal situation for anyone. But it’s certainly NOT the reason for the US not forcing a ceasefire.
I'd imagine as the world's largest producer of oil and gas the US could easily stabilise the prices of fuel which appears to be driving inflation. The US arms industry has a strong lobby in Washington so I'm not holding out much hope for a speedy end to this.

At what price to the civilian population?

They'd be losing a lot more lives without the material support provided.

War is hell, but I'm not sure Ukraine have a lot of choice than to resist an unprovoked invasion.
The material support is mostly in armaments which will just extend the conflict,so many more Ukrainian civilian lives lost. Not the best scenario?

The problem is the reduction in Russian oil and gas from the world markets.

Biden has requested that all big US oil companies increase their production and he’s released a big chunk of the US oil reserves in an attempt to control the price.

Problem is Big Oil is not playing ball ( worldwide) they are not investing in the infrastructure quick enough to get the oil flowing.

It’s a world problem that is lack of investment and funding in renewable energy has now come back to haunt us. The world has to get away from its dependence on fossil fuels.

Well, let's deal in the reality and not a fantasy where Russia packs up and goes home and it's all hugs and smiles.

There is a reason Ukraine want to extend the conflict.
So you can see the Ukrainian forces fighting the Russians back to their border? You really need to do some more research, only a week ago even the BBC ran a story that Nato never mind the Ukraine is low on basic things such as bullets whereas Russia has huge stockpiles.

OPEC could easily have their arms twisted by the US,it's all about will or lack of.

They don't need to fight them back to the border. They need to hold them roughly where they are until winter then let the weather do the rest.

What's your alternative, by the way? What's the basis for negotiation that would end this?
