No, nothing is right about the murder of civilians.

I'm not sure what you want out of this. You seem to be implying that Ukraine should just give up to protect their civilians, which Russia would still be shelling as they advance. Unless, of course, the US magically find a way to impose a ceasefire that they're never going to guarantee because it would inevitably lead to direct confrontation between NATO and Russia.

You mean the world only has peace keeping troops that are Nato members? And I think the word you were searching for was negotiated, not imposed.

There is no basis for negotiation. Both parties made that clear when they attempted to negotiate a ceasefire. Therefore, you need somebody to put boots on the ground to guarantee it. It was yourself who argued for a US brokered ceasefire.

180,000 civilian deaths in Iraq. So what went wrong?
Eh?

What’s your point of reference here? Are you talking war or post war or combined?

Don’t forget in the wake of GW 2 there was a massive internal power struggle in Iraq involving multiple militias and religious factions blowing the crap out of each other.

I’d suggest stop looking at stand out figures on wiki and actually take the time to do some real research.

Official civilian deaths from military intervention in both GW1 and 2 are around the 20K mark. Everything else happened in the chaos that followed Iraqs surrender in 2003

So what caused the chaos? The search for weapons of mass destruction? Some interesting published documents explains why Sadam Hussain wasn't ousted after GW1.

The US could broker it without it involving US or Nato troops acting as peacekeepers. Not a difficult concept to understand.

But what would they broker it with? Neither side is willing to give up it's objectives or compromise. Why would the US, a country hostile to one of the combatants be able to succeed where Turkey failed?

Them trying rather than using Ukraine as a testing ground for weapons might be a start.

"Dear Russia, please stop"

"No"

"well, we tried."
Oh if it was so simple. Columbia has a new left wing government,if Russia starts offering military support wonder what the short-term outcome might be.?
Be so much easier if world politics was like a computer game.

Sorry, I’m struggling here. I posted that Russian military doctrine is by its nature designed to kill civilians and destroy civilian infrastructure. You then compared it to US doctrine in Iraq.

There is no comparison. Your resorting to whataboutery now.

Let’s keep the discussion in context and on-topic.
