Why would they lose the right to veto?

It's been suggested they could be thrown out before, withdrawal of veto wouldn't be such a big step.

Now there we have it, looking at the US history of invasion of sovereign states by default makes you a supporter of Putin and the slaughter of Ukrainians. Putin should be held to account for war crimes. But then why do Blair Bush and the Saudis walk free? Uncomfortable questions?

Turkey has stated they would veto any attempt to include Ukraine in NATO, NATO has countered by threatening to withdraw the veto option. This could lead to a Turkey withdrawal from NATO which I don't think would please the US. Interesting future.

Turkiye (as they're now insisting on) and Russia may be more natural an alliance than Turkiye and NATO.

How so? Turkish troops fought for NATO in Korea, TUR will never leave NATO. It's impossible.

Think if Turkey lose any right to veto that may be the outcome,time will tell.
The Turks still have memories of the danger the US put them in during the Cuban missile crisis.

The 2016 coup is a more relevant thing - it probably wasn't US-inspired, but they do shelter Gulen.

Turkey is far more important to NATO (and to the EU) than Ukraine would ever be though, I'd worry if anyone was even talking about bringing a discussion on that topic. The EU should really be focusing on deepening ties right now with Erdogan, as unpleasant as many will find that.

As we've seen in world politics, nothing is impossible. Yeltsin the drunken dancing bear was letting McDonalds open in Moscow,then along came Putin. Who'd have thought Saudi Arabia would have slaughtered a quarter of a million Yemenis (and counting) yet still own Newcastle United and run their horses at Epsom. Bush and Blair wage an illegal invasion of Iraq killing + or - 185,000 civilians and are walking free amongst us.

Uncomfy but absolutely true: if the conflict far away (preferably with a Muslim population), it's all right and we don't care (as much).

The genocide of Uyhurs in China and the laughable reaction by the west illustrates that point too. It was called whataboutism by @Daveysgingerlovechild when I brought it up some months ago. A million people...
