It's not the Red Army. The Red Army was 8 times bigger than the Russian army. A lot of senior Ukrainian officers served in the Red Army.
Putin should end this fiasco and try & save face now. He's not going to win this unless he doubles down & goes for a total war. But then again, what does he win if (?) he succeeds? Destroying the cradle of his own empire. I'm too stupid to see the big picture here for the Russians...
