What about the working class people (or otherwise) in Ukraine who are having the crap bombed out of them for absolutely no reason other than the megalomania of a cretin who's lied to the working class people of Russia from the moment he sought power... and continues to lie to them, and lock them up when they protest and want to learn the truth ??
I don't disagree with anything you're saying but two wrongs don't make a right. Working class Russians in Western countries shouldnt be being attacked /having their businesses attacked simply for being Russian because the news, as usual, whip up hysteria and frenzy. Those same people have probably fled Russia for the reasons you say.

Do you have any examples of this…..

Try suggesting that to the people of Mariupol that their city being raised to the ground is whipped up hysteria and frenzy.

Jesus, has Kev "via the North, or maybe the East" the Rat been reincarnated in here or what?

We had about a week of sensible posts and now I pop in for my daily dose of common sense only to read that apparently the West is desperate to start WWIII and some odd references to the troubles.

But what you're saying doesn't make it OK to target people for simply being Russian. I don't get your point here. Russian people living in the West (unless Oligarchs who've made money from Putin) have nothing to do with this war nor is it in anyway their fault.

Your relevant questions where mostly rhetorical jibes. I keep bringing up ego because you write in a constant point scoring manner. You still are now even with this milder post. I'm happy to discuss my views and listen to yours but I've no interest in point scoring /trying to make people look silly because their opinion is different.

Also what are you talking about I never said anyone in here was Russiaphobic?

And no I don't mean the horrors of war being used as propaganda and you know I don't especially when I've said I'm anti war. I mean media drumming up support for actions that will equate to WW3 like a no fly zone for example or reports that Putin will use nukes and chemical weapons etc when he hasn't yet and hopefully he doesn't. I believe in a peaceful resolution and I believe it can be achieved as I've already stated.
You are impossible to talk to because you keep playing the victim here. You claim you want to discuss issues, but then shrink from actually doing so, instead self-righteously claiming you're somehow above the fray and that I'm merely being egotistical and point-scoring. It's all very weird, as you can't seem to engage in what you desire to be engaged in, but are completely happy to write things like "bully boy hat" and "...didn't have the nads..." and that other members here are "naive."

As to Russophobia, you said, without specifying a subject, the following: "The entire unnecessary Russiaphobia going on atm is driven by propaganda/ news/ whatever you want to call it and its wrong." As no subject was specified and this was a stand-alone paragraph I was assuming you were talking about people here on GOT taking pleasure in the suffering of Russian citizens.

The media hasn't drummed up that much support for a no-fly zone as far as I can tell, though some politicians have called for it. The Guardian just published a long open letter by various people coming out against a no-fly zone. Support among US citizens to enter the war or send troops to Ukraine is consistently low rather than high.

Again, do you have any examples of ordinary Russians being targeted…..

That’s just your ego speaking…..?

Of course they shouldn't, unfortunately some people seem have difficulty separating the actions of a country from the people whose origin it is. We saw it with Asians being abused because of Covid, Muslims with 9/11 etc

You can blame it on media portrayals and indeed some have been sensationalized but tbh I don't see how you accurately report on a maternity hospital being bombed even in the most responsible manner without arousing strong feelings in viewers, some of whom will be bellends.

Mind boggles doesn't it. The poor people of Ukraine are being murdered, displaced, and their country destroyed, by these atrocities, these war crimes, and people are questioning certain aspects. There are victims in both sides, the Russian people are victims because they are brainwashed and controlled by the state. The sanctions will affect them too. But no one should dare, ever, question the Ukraine people. They have been ambushed by a vile bully, dictator, and are caught between a rock and a hard place. We don't want a WW3 but damn it this war must be stopped.

This is a bit tedious. What are you trying to achieve here? Notice how I'm engaging in normal conversation with everyone else except you? Because you keep having a pop. Like I say I've no interest in arguing etc I'll share my view if don't agree say why you don't like an adult if you wish rather than some point scoring rubbish and made up assumptions. Alternatively just pop me on ignore if you're incapable of that and if my opinion annoys you so much. Last I checked saying someone is being naive isnt an insult.

In regards to your 2nd paragraph that's your problem right there isn't it? You assumed. Then proceeded to make something up to make it seem like I'm attacking everyone on here which is not the case at all.

The last paragraph is exactly why they're trying to drum up support. Doesn't mean every media outlet is at it. Good on the Guardian hopefully more go this route and keep the support for war low as this can be resolved without WW3 happening.
