As uninspiring and passive as Biden is, Trump could've been a real disaster in this situation. He'd go toe-to-toe with Biden and they're both too stubborn and arrogant to back down - would get messy.

That said, a few sanctions isn't going to scare the Russians off.

I think that'll be Able Archer '83 after the false alarm in the September, where things could have easily deteriorated into nuclear combat.

While this is worrying, it's currently way off what happened with Cuba and what could have happened when nuclear combat appeared very likely.

Oh, @Kev The Rat Biden has vowed to defend NATO soil and is increasing deployments to the Baltic States, so I hope that'll put that issue to bed.
