They will not surrender. Nor will they agree.

This is a "we shall never surrender" moment, and likely rightfully so. Yes, it will get ugly, there will be casualties, but these are proud people and it's not entirely unwinnable by any means, unless they get carped bombed/nuked, which would defeat the purpose of the war to begin with.

They are going to get carpet bombed though; that is what he has done repeatedly. He will mash the people of that land to a pulp, and destroy everything.

Proud people will prepare for what is likely to come; they can use the time they’ve won positively and who knows what the near future could bring?

He has to say that publicly to ensure he gets a better resolution - if Russia think they will dig in until their money runs out then Putin may drop the regime change/denazification/bloc goals.

Sitting while your country is pummelled into oblivion and your population are killed in an unwinnable war is not clever politics on any level. Even if Russia withdraw and ceasefire they still will control Crimea and the breakaway regions.

I can see what you're saying and the bombing is quite serious, however put yourself in this position and tell me - will you abandon everything you have and have worked for?

Zelenskyy's not sitting though - he has addressed the people and given the nearly-the-same Churchill speech?

It won't stop Russia because, well, it's Russia, but hopefully open the eyes of the Ukrainian allies that they're not simply rolling over.
