We are watching the disintegration of Ukraine in real time and the humanitarian situation is only worsening. The world governments need to take further action.
Is it not true that the command and control facilities of those old soviet weapons they inherited upon the breakup were Moscow centralized? They may have possessed nuclear weapons for a short time, but they would not have been deliverable or detonatable. They could have removed the fissile materials to construct devices of their own, but then they would still have to have developed the implosion firing mechanism which is regarded as the most challenging part of weapon design, and would have needed to be tested. Would have been enormous political pressure on them to disarm. If Ukraine had the ability to rain missiles down on Russian cities and had retained their nukes I think we can be confident that there is little chance that Putin would be doing this.
Be a huge explosion if it reaches you though. The parka would have no effect reallyAnyone else getting slightly twitchy about Chernobyl? Back up power is down and safety and security systems seemingly not fully operational.
Time to break out my lead parka...
Now believed to be two million have sought refuge. God help them.Since this war began I’ve cried every day for the suffering the people of Ukraine are encountering. I’m also saddened by the many Russians troops that have been lied to and are now fighting their Ukrainian brothers and sisters, and getting killed because of Putin’s madness. Plus the many other people around the world that are going to feel the effects of this unnecessary war.
Btw, I agree with your assessment that Putin wants to be the next Nicholas the Great. But he is nothing but a murderer and now a war criminal.
Mate, I am increasingly concerned at where all this is going. I am normally an optimist but also a realist.Anyone else getting slightly twitchy about Chernobyl? Back up power is down and safety and security systems seemingly not fully operational.

It's being given to them with a reasonable level of bureaucracy behind it, which is good response realistically, especially by neighbouring countries (especially Balkans, we're usually not very... friendly; also usually pro-Russian. Proud of us really). Now believed to be two million have sought refuge. God help them.
Where are you from my friend? It's being given to them with a reasonable level of bureaucracy behind it, which is good response realistically, especially by neighbouring countries (especially Balkans, we're usually not very... friendly; also usually pro-Russian. Proud of us really).
Horrible thing is that for quite some time the people seeking refuge will not be able to return to their home... and when they do, their home might be leveled. For no reason. "Freeing Ukraine from the nazis" by bombing innocents at their home. Sickening.
Bulgaria.Where are you from my friend?
A proud and historic people. I want to visit Bulgaria and Romania some day when this madness is over. I have been to Hungary, Croatia and Bosnia and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Lovely, friendly people, and great places to visit.Bulgaria.
Sorry, thought most people here know and I don't hide it, so decided to not mention it every time!
