They won't be batteries but 48 hour reserve diesel generators that could be refuelled.

There are other things that can be done. Once through cooling with hoses and an emptying pump for example but that's going to carry some contam out with it.

Just been watching the coverage on Sky. It literally had me in tears. Estimated that a million have already packed up in suitcases and fled their homes and this could go to two million.

Footage of little kids wheeling their bags and waiting interminably to get on a bus.

Meanwhile, their fathers, uncles and I am sure many female relations are staying behind to try and resist this bully.

As an Irishman, we have a history of losing millions through famine and forced emigration in the 1840s.

Even if there was peace in the morning, the damage already caused will take generations to recover.

Since this war began I’ve cried every day for the suffering the people of Ukraine are encountering. I’m also saddened by the many Russians troops that have been lied to and are now fighting their Ukrainian brothers and sisters, and getting killed because of Putin’s madness. Plus the many other people around the world that are going to feel the effects of this unnecessary war.

Btw, I agree with your assessment that Putin wants to be the next Nicholas the Great. But he is nothing but a murderer and now a war criminal.

We're stocking up the national reserves of wheat and are providing social assistance (housing & money per day for the next 3 months) to the Ukrainian refugees, provided they go through the (supposedly) easy process of registering as such when they enter.
