I have never wanted them to stay in Afghanistan. Still don't. I believe the conversation was Trump pulling them out with no contingency and not allowing them to figure out how to set them up to defend themselves. Which is what I believed.

Also I get into debates all of the time with folk here who I consider friends with regards to their service.

Poorly trained and resourced troops, who were apparently running out of food in staging areas, following inept tactics while using insecure communications.

What could go wrong? Add to that, an ex-colleague of mine said there are people on the ground organising the retrieval of lots of their technology.

This war is costing them now, and it'll continue to cost them for many years to come.
