Ah come of it. If this isnt a windup and you are serious this os so ridiculous mate.

So let me get this straight.

The soviets who moved in to most of them right after WWII. Who implanted people from their small towns so as to have them populate.

They then stayed for what 40 years.

Imposing harsh laws and arresting and killing anyone who disagreed.

Taking whatever resource they wanted too.

They weren't the issue but an organization setup to combat their movement through Europe are the real issue.

Ask the people in East Germany how their time was with the soviets. Ask the women who were actually raped while their husband's and brothers were shot.

Put the drugs down mate this is actually one of the worse take on European history worse than Kev.

Have you ever talked to anyone from any of those countries about any of this? I suspect not if this is your take away.
Literally my colleague of 6 years who i share a truck cabin with 12 hours a day is a 50 year old Romanian.

Let me get back to you soon.

You replied me SC. You didn't have to do this.

China is walking an interesting tightrope. They stand to gain, relatively speaking, from the Russians running out of alternatives, but they are also concerned about secondary sanctions.

They're pushing Putin's propaganda line, which I'd say puts them squarely on Putin's side, but they're being very cautious about it. On the one hand, the absolute last thing they need is Putin's collapse and replacement with a pro-Western government. That would let the US focus on the South China Sea and Taiwan. That said, the government's legitimacy is derived from economic prosperity, and they don't want the US and Europe training their financial arsenal on them.
Haven’t seen much of that myself over the past couple of days - seen more of the “lets cool it” rhetoric

I’d assume they were fine with a quick steamroll over Ukraine but a long drawn out slog that freaks out markets is a whole different ballgame.

UN discussing the attack on the Power Plant. Russia is 20 miles from another Nuclear Power Plant

I think this could end up with Nato going in tbh,

They'll take the power plants and will secure them. I don't really see how it benefits Russia if there is a nuclear disaster.

UN are saying the staff maintaining the plant havent been able to take a break/rest, assuming they are the only workers there and cant see Russian soldiers knowing what to do. That in itself is worrying.

Im wondering if Putin even cares at this point about Nuclear fallout, he's nearly 70 years old. That or he is going to use them as a constant threat to Europe.

They'll force them to continue to operate the plant but I don't think they're planning to use the nuclear plants as a nuclear weapon. They've got enough of them ready to use anyway.

He told you that NATO are worse than having Russia occupy them for 40 years then? Haha!

I eagerly await your response.
Now now. Get over the soviet union. That's long gone.

Just getting ready come home from work. Ill red pill in a bit like back in the day.

Getting nostalgic here.

Nope you don't get to pull that nonsense.

Your claim is that NATO has raped those countries. You don't get to ignore what happened to them by the very country you are seemingly defending. It's all relevant.

Winds tend to blow west to east. It’s certainly not in Russia’s interests to invoke a nuclear accident at one of those power plants. I suspect some Ruski squaddies got a little too trigger happy last night.

Another example of lack of command and control by the Russian military.

This is what I think too. I think the line that they might is to push public opinion for nato to get involved. A radio report had a Ukrainian describing these plants as a threat that could wipe out Europe, which just sounded a bit far fetched.

It's a line that relies on people's emotional responses and them forgetting just how close Ukraine is to Russia.

But I think it'll work - once people tire of pouring vodka away (some of our neighboirs have 8 bottles in their recycling bin since tuesday - unless they had a GREAT party Monday night) they'll push for more intervention.

I don't think they really care.
With these sanctions we risk losing Russia, (even when Putin is gone), as well as Ukraine.
Chinese companies might get a free reign in Russia and make it a de facto economic vassal state + it's another market of 140m people to peddle their goods.
We should work towards quick de-escalation, not only for humanitarian reasons, but also for long term geopolitical reasons.

In time.
