Launching a nuclear weapon as a response to sanctions would be an insane escalation... I don't think (at least, I hope) the Kremlin have lost their marbles that much.

It’s posturing with NATO and is something they do during drills; while worrying, it’s not saying they’ll use them. It’ll be interesting to know how the generals are taking it.
