Does it matter? It was a ballistic missile capable of carrying a nuclear warhead equipped with multiple re-entry vehicles.
But it wasn't an ICBM - which is a different kettle of fish with very different implications.

I know why the Ukrainians are spoofers: they pretty much have always needed NATO in this fight and boots on the ground to stand a chance of victory, so every pronouncement concerning the conduct of the war is a strange version of reality. I cant say I blame them in that respect. It's a regime fighting for survival. But they have been consistent spoofers.

We've got a such thing here called the NCF, the headquarters are Lancashire.

If anyone hits us we hit them back in kind.

We definitely don't stand by while other countries attack our cyber infrastructure.

I'll have to look it up. I mean more in terms of being snides like them and doing the old "we have nothing to do with it" act.

What does this mean?

Oleksiy Goncharenko, an MP for Odesa, tells BBC News that the area hit was "mostly civilian", so there was no military impact.

"It's more about psychology," the Odesa lawmaker says.

Goncharenko adds that if the West doesn't "stand firmly" behind his country, then Putin will "finish Ukraine".

He adds that "the time has arrived" for maximum support of Ukraine from other countries.

I'm not sure what - beyond the supply of LR missiles, anti-personnel landmines, tanks, helicopters, drones, fighter planes, missile defence systems - the west can do.

Is this the last roll of the dice to appeal for boots on the ground?

Russia have already deployed short-range missiles that have nuclear warhead capabilities, Putin isn’t going to nuke Ukraine especially with Trump around the corner.

In reality it’s probably an old system that sits on the boundary of ICBM & has been intentionally used by Russia as a “message”.

All the bedwetting about “this is it” is hilarious.

Isn't russia looking at 20% inflation or similar? Aren't they having to offer cannon fodder wages and sign on bonuses because families are being starved into their sons being sent for slaughter? Suddenly the arms depot's they've built up are being attacked and they're crying about it. Sounds like the pressure is working. All the focus is on them, one wrong twitch and russia is gone. Could be worth the cost of trump ii if russia can be sent back in time a few hundred years.
