Guardian:

The Wall Street Journal reported that among Trump’s plans to bring about an end to the conflict was the establishment of an 800-mile demilitarised zone between the Russian and Ukrainian armies, policed by European troops.

Bryan Lanza, a political adviser to Trump since his 2016 presidential campaign, suggested on the BBC this weekend that Trump would force territorial concessions from Ukraine.

Possibly why Starmer's in France today. Not just for another foreign holiday jolly but to discuss the deal with Macron.

A deal WILL be imposed on Zelensky soon enough I'd have thought.

That actually might suit Zelensky to cede land to Russia AND get foreign troop boots on the ground.

Well if you need help on working out how to surrender, you might as well seek advice from the French.

I've not yet seen a primary source for the supposed Rutte quote but it's a provocative step if true - re the US and NATO.

This is an interesting analysis of the situation we face with Russia, China et al for democracies.

Seems this (Rutte quote) is just coming from Russian propogandists such as Galloway and the like.

Oh dear, what will the US do then for security?

Putin must be laughing his head off if that's true.

Looks either desperate or could be part of some elaborately constructed US-EU plan to sell a peace deal of some sort as a victory: NATO heads rattle the sword a bit; the US-EU 'imposes' a buffer zone on Russia with western troops standing guard over Ukraine - Ukraine are 'happy' with it.

All wheels within wheels atm. But a deal will be forced through of some description.

So I'm stuck in a patient's room and one of these meet the press like shows are on. They brought on some stooge from I think the UK, because I half listening I had no idea who she was.

Reporter: Orban said he talked to Trump and the US will cut Ukraine off.

UK: We don't think he's talking to Orban about this.

Reporter: Trump already said he's talked to Orban multiple times.

UK: Even if he talked to Orban we don't think he'd take any steps before talking to all his European allies.

The EU's entire policy on Ukraine is wishful thinking.

If only Churchill once said, "America will try everything else and then give Trump all 3 branches of govt."

I'm minded to think this Rutte thing is nonsense. Then again, good propaganda always has a kernel of truth to it. Speculation on US relations with NATO post inauguration will only make matters more volatile.

That Trump and Putin have talked since the election and Trump has spoken to Zelensky points to Trump trying to wrangle a deal. He's got to next January to sort one out quickly otherwise it's going to be protracted if it can be done at all.

Man throws up a counter argument, and all you have left are insults you lonely pissed stained flappy arsed potato.
He's arguing with the wrong person. It's a Ukrainian government sponsored video. You're obviously a dim as him. Maybe work on your childlike schoolyard gibes they are becoming so boring.🥱

He wont be doing Ukraine any favours. He backs winners not losers.

I can think of absolutely no reason that the Ukrainian media would say this... unless it's a push for further funding and weapons.. no couldnt possibly be anything like that, keep up the current rapid gains they'll take Kiev in 80 years at the cost of 20 million men.
So you can't work out who posted the video on YouTube.🙄
