God alone knows nowadays.

Anyway back to the war and senseless deaths and destruction.
And Ukrainian views on the Russia problem.

Some findings regarding Ukrainian views on the war and peace. As of May 2024, a majority (55%) oppose any territorial concessions, while 32% are willing to consider them to hasten peace and preserve independence.

The views of Ukrainians, particularly those still living near frontlines, may be more supportive of peace talks with Russia, but the vast majority (over 80%) reject Russian demands to cede control over occupied regions like Donetsk, Luhansk, and Zaporizhzhia.

Also worth noting from the findings in the above that “only 22% of respondents welcomed the idea of holding national elections in Ukraine (presidential or parliamentary) before the war end”.

It is logical to assume that a willingness to engage in peace discussions might reflect exhaustion with the prolonged conflict but there remains strong opposition to peace at any cost, particularly when it involves territorial losses.

It’s not that simple. Yes the US election results will play a major part but also independently Ukraine will make the call with certain caveats. What those are we don’t know yet and whether Putin will accept them.

2025 IMO will see a ceasefire.
There'll be a ceasefire because the western powers will impose it on Ukraine.

Everything barring a full NATO intervention has been tried to get Ukraine a victory and it has to end. There's very little political will left i Europe apart from the Baltic states and Poland; the issue is a polarising one in the US and any new president will want it quickly off the table.

Russia played the long game and they will prevail.

I suppose this could go in the WW3 thread.

More on this today.

Think the discussion on this thread is about the Russian invasion of Ukraine, maybe check the title page? Not one of mine has been pro Russian,if you want to join the dimwit Desktop Battalion and pretend I have,on you go.🥱
Thanks for not answering the question again Spud. It's quite relevant, but either you're too dimwitted to see it, or too embarrassed to write down what you actually think.

The title of the page too difficult for you?🙄
No sign of any post from me being pro-Russian?🥱
Carry on Dimwit.
Let's bring it back to what was actually said. You are saying that death is permanent and suffering is temporary essentially. When countries invade each other they wipe out cultures, self esteem, loss of identity, the list goes on. This has detrimental long term issues for the native population of a country. So basically you telling the Ukranians to suck it up and become Russian is probably something you'd tell Native Indians, Aboriginal, Maori etc right? That worked out really well for them.

Take a look at the map of Ukraine maybe? You might find that if there's a ceasefire tomorrow those who would come under Russian influence would be... ethnic Russians. If they make Dumb and Dumber 3 you'd be nailed on to get a leading role.🙄
