It's easy to talk of extending wars from the comfort of a sofa. Obviously the fact that Ukraine's main backer stated well over a year ago that they can't retake the Donbass and Crimea and the war can at best end in a stalemate that will go on for years flew right over your head. Dimwitted doesn't quite describe your levels of delusion. Ukraine is becoming smaller by the day,but again that'll have escaped your notice...
You didn't answer my question. Please try again.

I'd say the cowards are the ones wanting the war to carry on while posting on social media instead of getting off their behinds to join the fight.
It’s Ukraines fight - you nobhead. Posters on here are simply showing their support for them and upholding their democratic right for freedom and self-deternination.

I don’t see you pushing the same banal point in the Israel thread by saying that anyone opposed to Israeli actions should hop on a plane to the middle east and sign up with Hamas or Hezbollah.

That’s were your position becomes unstuck. Your argument is void and you have no other purpose in this thread apart from trolling.

You are a coward, you are an appeaser, you are thick as mince and a vatnik troll but most of all you are an ignorant and boring bellend. You deserve every potato reference and nothing less.

You’ve been told several times in this thread that there’s nobody who wants the “war to carry on”, so I’m starting to agree with other posters that you’re a troll.

Nobody wants a war in Europe. The difference between you & several posters in this thread is you want the Russians to gain large parts of Ukraine & others back Ukrainians to have their land.

The war can stop tomorrow if Russia stopped trying to expand its territory, it’s that simple.

He’s a clear troll, ignores all reason only to push his puerile agenda. I blocked him months ago

They cant even get a free election in their country. It's been denied the Ukrainians for the past 2 years by the Kyiv regime.

Such is the commitment to democracy.

They’re at war ffs! You can’t hold elections in the middle of a war.
Why not?

The majority of public opinion in Ukraine is supposedly for a peace negotiation with Russia. Let them decide if that's what they truly want - if Zelensky or a more competent wartime leader is selected then it carries on.

Little Vlad really nailed those referendums in the areas he’s invaded. And to be fair to the potato people in here, it’s obvious everyone there voted to be Russian and occupied. I guess we just have to accept that everyone secretly wants to be Russian, given that everything they do is so legit and filled with empathy and compassion

Yes you can. It's been done many times before.

The vast majority of Ukraine is untouched from day to day by the war. Less than a 5th of its territory is under Russian control. The biggest hurdle is to get ballot papers into the hands of the 6 million who left Ukraine to avoid the war.

Zelensky said almost a year ago he wanted elections within a year.

The bottom line here is that we've seen elections cancelled and martial law imposed and misused. Opposition to Zelensky is growing. The travel ban on political opponents of Zelensky to travel abroad is causing a lot of ill feeling.

Well that's not true. From the findings I've seen. I believe it's about 32% willing to surrender land for peace talks but a significant majority of the population remains unwilling to trust Russia or believe in the viability of peace through concessions. They no doubt understand that peace on Russias terms now means further aggression down the line.

Can you imagine the amount of political and civil resources it would require to hold a general election? In the middle of a war? Those resources are better directed to the survivability of their country.

Personally I love a good election - but wait till there’s a ceasefire, which I believe is not far away at this point in time. Zelensky will probably step down at that point anyhow.

As for his performance to date. He’s kept his country in the game - you can say no more than that - yes there’s probably better politicians out there but I don’t believe it’s time for an election or major political change. Things are moving toward a ceasefire.

See my reply to @yaargh. Ceasefire will happen soon - Zelensky will probably walk at that point anyhow.
