Feelings are temporary,death is permanent.
Way off the mark there lad.. there's a reason that former soviet states were/are queueing up to join NATO. Russia don't even treat their own people with dignity or respect imagine what they'd do to an occupied population. I'd take death over occupation and oppression any day and be more than willing to go down fighting for the future of my country.

Goes well beyond simple ignorance this. Astonishing lack of historical comprehension, there are plenty of occupied peoples down the years that you could look at and read the death tolls it took on their population. Genocide doesn't happen on the battlefield, it happens when one group of people is in complete power over another group and the killing is legal and systematic. But you dismiss it all as temporary "feelings"?

Absolutely abhorrent excuse for a human being you, got to be a reason why you do nothing else with your life but sit in here 24/7 cheerleading for tyranny. No surprise with those views that everyone else in your life (hypothetical kids, hypothetical work colleagues) must have all gone non-contact with you, you utter weird jackboot fanatic.

Its good to see the existential threat to Ukraine being acknowledged. The tragedy of the Holodomor, the settlement strategies in Crimea and Eastern Ukraine, and the recurring Russian narrative all serve as attempts to erase Ukraine from history. The blatant attacks on civilians in ukraine and civilian infrastucture following the same strategic line. There was even a time when one of the early potsto people here tried to claim Ukrainian wasn’t a real language, which reflects the larger effort to deny their identity and existence. Unfortunately, this kind of narrative echoes other situations, like what Netanyahu envisions for Gaza and the Palestinian people

Imagine cheerleading this!

LUCERNE, Switzerland, June 15 (Reuters) - Russia's abduction of Ukrainian children is an attempt to steal the country's future and has left the youngsters with deep psychological scars

I suppose this could go in the WW3 thread.

You have this backwards - it’s those incidents, and all the daily reminders that they are not Russian, that is the primary driver behind the generation of a distinct Ukrainian identity. They might have been attempts to erase it but they’ve created and then strengthened it.

Putin was right when he said that 400 years ago there wasn’t a “Ukraine ”; that there is now is almost entirely down to Russian government policy during that time.
