How many do they still have left that were handed to them?

They've had one shot down or malfunction and another 4 destroyed at an airbase in western Ukraine by Russian missiles.
I think they currently have 19 (did have 20). No confirmation of any other aircraft being destroyed just rumours. There is a commitment to provide a total of 72, giving the UAF 4 complete sqns of 18 aircraft per sqn.

These will be released in tranches along with groups of trained pilots, ground crews and equipment.

I'd agree that this is what should happen but right now Russia won't agree to any protection for what remains of Ukraine, they wanted it all and they aren't going to get that now because Ukraine fought back, because lives were lost, because Ukraine got help.. Russia is now an empire and empires historically have to expand or they crumble, Russia has invaded and annexed parts of multiple countries in living memory it's expansionist and it has to be stopped.
Think you'll find China are the empire builders and Russia just their proxy. If China are involved in any peace talks (which they will be) Putin will do as he's told.BTW,you don't need to thank me for fixing your typos 😉

"hooky" planes tho mate.

They are just scrap, should weigh em in.

Well if you believe rumours then Ukraine shot the first one down themselves and there's been 2 unconfirmed reports of Kinzhal missile attacks destroying others with little reporting on their subsequent use adding fuel to the rumours. I imagine if there was proof other then the circumstantial images of damage to the airfields were they supposed to be based at then it would have been all over the Internet for propaganda purposes.

The fact that there's not very many of them, rushed training of pilots and likely limitations on how they can be used from the US is the reason it's not looking good for them in all honesty.

The money would have been better spent on the rather unglamorous work of fortifying positions in the east or a few more drone attacks on Russian military infrastructure.
Sadly the last money spent on fortifications was syphoned off by the "builders" As for drones, they are needed to defend Ukrainian infantry, and by the way they are losing ground,in far greater numbers.

Ukraine's air force, according to Dave:

Smash a fair few Russian shins in as they go pedalling down the pavement.

When they were first mentioned American pilots who'd flown them said they weren't suitable for the terrain of Ukraine, but then that's news that nobody in the West wanted to hear.
