No way Putin and family survive if Russia collapses. Which might just happen if these weapons are used in Russian territory. His response to avert this outcome should be considered. Just hope his hold on regime has weakned and moderates are waiting to take control before he responds.

Little Vlad doesn't want the people to be getting info outside of Kremlin propoganda as it'd help fuel what you describe.

The Kremlin is reportedly allocating roughly 59 billion rubles (about $648 million) to strengthen its technical ability to restrict internet traffic on its sovereign internet. Forbes' Russia service reported on September 9 that it obtained documents on Russia's federal "Cybersecurity Infrastructure" project detailing how Russian federal censor Roskomnadzor will spend 59 billion rubles between 2025 to 2030 to update its "technical means of countering threats" (TSPU) system, which the Kremlin uses to block certain websites.[21] The 59-billion-ruble budget is roughly 86 percent of the 68 billion rubles (about $747 million) that the Kremlin is dedicating to the broader federal "Cybersecurity Infrastructure" project. This TSPU update will reportedly include the modernization of existing TSPU systems and installation of new TSPU systems to account for an increase in user traffic. Forbes noted that modernizing and increasing TSPU systems will increase Roskomnadzor's ability to block virtual private networks (VPNs), which Russians can use to bypass Roskomnadzor's restrictions on which websites they can view while in Russia. Roskomnadzor Head Andrei Lipov previously stated that Roskomnadzor finished equipping all communications nodes with TSPU as of September 2023, and Roskomnadzor's Main Radio Frequency Center's Center for Special Projects Head Sergei Temny stated in June 2024 that Roskomnadzor no longer purchases foreign equipment for TSPU and is working to replace existing foreign TSPU equipment with domestically produced alternatives.[22] Roskomnadzor has previously used TSPU to slow down access to X (formerly Twitter) and likely recently did the same for YouTube.[23] The Kremlin has recently intensified efforts to compel Russians to abandon Western social media sites in favor of Kremlin-approved alternatives, and strengthening TSPU supports technical aspects of this effort.[24] The Kremlin is likely trying to balance encouraging self-censorship as a self-deterrent among Russian ultranationalists and other critics of Russian authorities with imposing actual technical restrictions on the types of information and internet services that Russians can access.[25]

US President Joe Biden stated on September 10 that the presidential administration is working on lifting restrictions on Ukraine's ability to use US-provided weapons to strike military objects within Russia.[18] Biden stated that his administration is "working that out now," in response to a question about whether the United States would lift restrictions prohibiting Ukraine from using US-provided long-range weapons to strike within Russia. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated earlier on September 10 during a press conference with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy that Biden and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer will likely discuss lifting these restrictions during a meeting on September 13.[19] House Foreign Affairs Committee Chair Michael McCaul stated on September 10 that he believes that Blinken will use the visit to Kyiv to inform Ukrainian officials that the United States will allow Ukrainian forces to use US-provided ATACMS missiles to strike within Russia.[

Cutting or interupting the supply lines to the front would be as welcome as stopping their ability to bomb Ukraine civilians.
If those "wunderwaffe" missile were capable to interrupt supply line anywhere then they would do it long time ago with Crimea. You do know permission to strike Crimea and Donbass/Luhansk is already in effect for a almost a year? Last time i checked it stopped feck all.

It gonna give some headache to Russians where they gonna move their airplanes little bit back and thats gonna be it, as US minister of defense Austen said last week, Russians already moved 80% of their fighters out of range and its not gonna turn the tide (his exact quote).

People love to jerk off about wonder weapons (Leopards, Abrams, f16s come to mind) but reality is this war gonna be won or lost by old fashion attrition.

I think Spadge touched on it earlier. It’s more about being able to strike the logistics, supply depots and Command & Control centres within Russia.

Crimea generally has very few if any of these targets and resources, instead it relies heavily on the supply lines from Russia to keep it in the game.

I also don’t think anyone in here expects LR deep strike weapons to end the war but they will cause massive headaches for Russia and force them to do something they hadn’t planned for. Once again Ukraine is making the plays and forcing Russia to be reactive instead of proactive.

The big plus for me is that it tells Russia that NATO no longer gives a toss about Russia’s supposed “red-lines” and that NATO will continue to apply indirect pressure to Russia rather than fragment and fall apart as Russia thought they would.

Being able to strike further, and deeper into Russia will obviously be a problem for Russia. That's why Ukraine are pleading to have the shackles removed. The psychological effect alone will build the pressure upon Vlads maniacal adventure.

So frustrating once you understand how Ukraine’s hands have been tied by the US administration.

It’s time to stop playing political games and give Ukraine the go-ahead to use these weapons.

It is a terrible idea. Firstly, why on earth are they making a song and dance about authorising this? Doing that inevitably results in a perception that they are authorising the strikes themselves. Secondly, what are they going to do when one of these missiles takes out a school, a hospital, a train full of civilians etc?

Ukraine has a missile production capacity and is capable of striking the deep rear within Russia with drones and the systems it already has.

So hold Ukraine back from using foreign missiles as is being discussed but let Russia pummel civilians with Iranian, North Korea missiles and the like.

Strikes on Crimea have stopped the Black Sea fleet from operating / launching missiles haven’t they?
My (possibly mistaken) understanding is the drones / missiles are tending to be air to ground or ground to ground from deeper inside Russia now
