The UN are intrinsically a civilian led humanitarian organisation. Their rules of engagement are very different from a military led organisation, therefore IMO if they sent a UN force into Gaza it would be a target for both Hamas, other beardy groups as well as the Israelis. Basically a suicide mission.

Any international intervention in Gaza needs to be military led with military rules of engagement and decent heavy equipment as they will need to defend themselves from all sides.
They did it in the old Yugoslavia ? - they are spending 50 billion to an untrained Ukrainian Army - now Battle worn - instead of that they could just set up bases at the back & destroy Putin's long ranges missiles & let the Ukrainian army - do the final push to end the war .....Putin's bluff has to be called out .....

I may be missing contributions in other moments in this or other threads, but having read many an obvious troll in current affairs over the years I am struggling to see that @davids is so clearly a troll as some of you seem to believe

Certainly not enough to warrant derailing the thread with memes and random replies about potatoes. They seem to argue their point to a decent level, and if they seem a bit sarcy I'd put it down to the reaction they get to most posts they make

Personally think their input is more deserving of a normal response and debate than being treated like the window cleaner or the one dull trump fan that posts every couple days. There's a lot of assuming what they think or what they mean by a post rather than actually responding to their points or asking clarification

in my humble opinion

(I'll ignore them using culchie as an insult...)
And just what exactly is wrong with window cleaners, if you wouldn't mind explaining yourself.

The UN force sent into the former Yugoslavia was a peace keeping force. I know because I was part of it. It was NATO forces under a NATO chain of command that got involved in military action against Serbian forces.

At the end of the day any UN intervention in Ukraine would require approval from the security council of which both Russia and China hold power of veto - so there won't be any UN intervention in Ukraine.

Russia are not present - Macron thinks it may work ?

Macron is talking about a unilateral [France only] military deployment into Ukraine. Probably starting with military advisors [FFL], however I see that as a precursor to full NATO involvement. Don't think we're at that point quite yet.
What AA defense needs knocking out to allow Ukraine the chance at maintaining Ukraine airspace in full? Further, what air force capacity do russia have to address this possibility?
At what point is it likely belarus gets a rap on the knuckles also?

As if someone with your level of intelligence could metaphorically kick me up the arse. Stick to the childlike meme posting far more your level.

I am afraid that this can keep on going for a long old time unfortunately.
Yeah, maybe. But the shift to the right in Europe and soon Trump will be in office, I would expect, that'll focus minds on a solution.

Obviously each side aren't getting what they want. There's no zero sum game here.

IMO Russia and Ukraine will eventually agree to buffer zones between the declared 'independent' Russian authorities in Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts and the rest of Ukraine. But they won't get the Ukraine's to stop applying for NATO or the EU. The Ukrainians will get peace and their POWs back and a Marshall Plan type stimulus from the West.
