Think you're taking social media far too seriously. Or are you another one who sees the Ukrainian army having beach parties on Crimea in the near future? Or do you think that sending young poorly trained Ukrainians to die in a war neither side can win is a good idea?

I think you cosy up to Putin like a playground bully you think can offer you protection in a world that has chewed you up and spit you out like a potato skin burnt on the coals.

I think it's up to the Ukrainians whether or not they feel the freedom of their country & people is worth fighting and dying for.

It's easy to advocate for a 'peace at all costs' solution when when it's someone else paying those costs.

Why do people who support Russia seem more concerned about Ukrainian losses than the considerably more Russian losses?

Some people are concerned about all loss of human life. Some people are even concerned about the potential for this war to go very badly,very quickly. But hey if you're okay with you and yours ending up as flash marks on the pavement,after all Putin and Biden/Trump are the paragons of mental health,what's to worry about.

At the moment they have no option to vote or even post their opinions on social media (unless they want to chance prison time). I'm relying on my information from men fighting for Ukraine for their foreign legion. But then what would they know,I should stick with the BBC who tell me Ukraine is advancing westwards and shooting down every Russian missile while desperate for air defence systems.

Anyone claiming publicly that Russia are capable of taking on NATO either stands to make a lot of money from a war economy being set up or they are completely bananas.

If you asked most people here in this country they'd believe Russia are going to take over Europe next. Its an incredible feat of propaganda when it doesn't stand up to much logical scrutiny at all. but could easily mobilise people to actually go to war with them on that basis if that's the direction of travel.

Its an incredible feat of propaganda when it doesn't stand up to much logical scrutiny at all. but could easily mobilise people to actually go to war with them on that basis if that's the direction of travel.

It is a ridiculous idea,but don't underestimate the power of propaganda. Western governments have to justify sending more and more money to Ukraine while their own economies are struggling. The idea a Russian army fighting with rusty rifles and shovels and has struggled to overcome a country while they have virtually full air and sea superiority in two years but yet is a real danger to the NATO countries that surround them? Still there's a general election in the UK and a US presidential election coming up so...

If a ceasefire was called today Ukraine has lost an area that is predominantly ethnic Russian that has been a pain in the rear for them for over a decade. But still it's easy to wave the flag for a continuation of a war when you're never going to be involved personally. Slava Ukraine

Do you actually think a ceasefire today would be an end of things? Putins conditions are laughable, give us the land, demilitarise and give up on joining NATO.. Thats basically code for we are sustaining heavy losses, get rid of your army ditch your allies then give us a few years to build up our equipment again and we'll be back for more land..

Who knows,I tend to rely on the expert opinions. The US leaked military intelligence papers over a year ago stated that this war was bound for stalemate and they have never denied the veracity of the information. Where it is today, they appear to be correct. Putin's conditions are an opening gambit. He would settle for the land he has and an pyrrhic victory. The Ukraine can rebuild both it's infrastructure and military to ensure the status quo. You do realise that the large scale casualties aren't just Russian. Ukrainian forces are getting the weapons they need but don't have the trained manpower to operate them,cities are without electricity for an average of 20 hours a day so how do they treat the injured properly? As I said all very well to wave the virtue flag when you're not the one paying the price.
