A lot of their troops will be fighting with little to no experience of basic training, let alone combat. Their tactics, as now displayed, are viewed as inefficient too.

Indeed, but as has happened loads of times (most recently on Afghanistan) the corrupt end up getting wages of people on strength who don’t actually serve (or exist).

I did a spell in the Armed Forces Career office in Liverpool.
The lads who came in and sat with the Army were boss during the interviews.
The Kings Regiment is where most ended up. Full of Scousers and Mancs.

You wouldn’t want these lads sitting an exam for you, but if you were in the middle of a warzone, I’d want to be sat right next to them thank you very much.
