Lets assume you are correct.

What has this got to do with the illegal war started by Putin?

A lot of th corruption of his cronies has also involved substandard gear being bought with lots of donated cash and a lot of the cat going into the hands of ministers and the army elite.

If you were a Ukrainian soldier or civilian would you feel good about having a man looking after himself and oligarch mates rather than you?

picking up notes of covid expenditure and the rich flavour of no accountability thereafter...

You mean like we do here with the Tories?

That's why there'll be no elections next year. Turkeys don't vote for Christmas etc.

Zelensky and his cronies are corrupt with their accounts set up to squirrel away oligarch cash for them and to funnel off US cash.

Unbelievable that this khaki-wearing tit got any credibility. A thief who's now blown his cover by standing behind baby killers in Israel.
It would not shock me if you proved that Ukrainian military procurement is corrupt as all get-out.

When I was in college, one of my economics professors consulted in Ukraine in the summers. Flat-out nicest person I have ever met. People like that tend to be bad at noticing corruption. Even he would have told you that the Ukrainian government was corrupt up to its eyeballs.

I doubt things got better under Zelenskyy, decades later. I also stand with Ukraine against wars of territorial aggresion.

The IMF are crawling all over them on corruption.

Once this war is over there'll be a massive investigation of the Ukrainian political and military leaders.

you're threatening them with consequences that only occur if they win vs the ruskis?

bizarre.
If Russia did win then what was Ukraine would be living under the most corrupt regime on the planet. Putin was living/sleeping in a taxi when the Berlin Wall fell but now, since getting into Russian politics he is one of the richest men in the world, achieved through bribrs, under the table deals and plundering resources.

You missed out the murdering bit

The US Empire profits from its proxy war in Ukraine, while Ukrainians suffer. As usual, a west centric, benefits and losses, view of the world.

I doubt that argument is going to impress the 'holdout Republicans'.

I know that says the beneficiaries are some red states like Texas and Alabama, but where's the incentive for the Republicans to hand a foreign policy victory for Biden or to see his administration expand the industrial economy going into an election year?

Firstly, as was made clear before he was assassinated by Putin, Prigozhin, admitted why Russia had invaded, their elite's wanted to get Ukraines resources.

Secondly, Ukraine have andcare asking for the equipment being supplied by the US and the West. So yeah.

The benefit goes entirely to red states like Arkansas that Biden always loses.

It turns out (I have proved this with data) that DoD, at least under Cheney/Rumsfeld, does care about consequences for voters. It also only cares in battleground states like Pennsylvania and Florida. If you're from someplace like Arkansas or Wyoming, you can go hang so long as the Republicans are in power. I doubt the Democrats holding the presidency changes that calculus.
