I feel sorry for the Russian soldiers and working class people involved in this stupid, worthless war, that they didn't want.

There are sons, brothers, father's, sisters, mother's dying on both sides due to the actions of a bloodthirsty lunatic. The two nations are practically brothers FFS - it's so disgusting and frustrating.

Power to the brave russian civilians who are protesting this conflict inside Russia - a tremendously brave act - I hope they are all safe.

Putin needs dealing with now and made to pay for his war crimes - sanctions won't arse him.

'Something is off' with Putin, says US senator

US Senator Marco Rubio has intriguingly suggested "something is off" with Vladimir Putin.
Rubio is a member of the Senate intelligence committee and, as such, is privy to briefings from American spies.
The Florida senator tweeted that Putin's decision-making skills are not what they were five years ago and that "his problem now is different & significant".

Interesting, though the guy is a clown, hopefully he's right and Putin hasn't planned this carefully and suffers a historic defeat in the great city of Kyiv

I absolutely loathe that Bible thumper Marco Rubio but he might be right on this. Putin may be having some kind of health or memory issues. Making a completely rash decision like this invasion, sitting miles away from everyone at conferences and meetings… there’s some notable evidence for him being unwell. Possibly making some risky and last-ditch effort to preserve his “legacy” and that of the Soviet Union.

Doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be hauled off to The Hague ASAP

I would be devestated as I love this man of honour...but is it true? how would Putin see it?

I think they’d ideally want him to flee, and killing him would create a martyr (especially given how he has seen to behave since the war started) but that would be much less of a problem for him than if he’s captured or stays in control of Ukraine (which one would imagine would mean the invasion has failed).

I note by the way that last evening’s talk of peace has not had any acknowledgment from the Russian leadership, sadly. Hopefully the scales will fall from at least one person’s eyes now.
