Zelenskiy replaces Ukraine's Territorial Defence Forces commander

Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, has replaced the commander of Ukraine’s Territorial Defence Forces, which have played an important role in helping defend the country since Russia’s invasion.

A presidential order published on Monday announced the appointment of Maj General Anatoliy Barhylevych as the new commander.

A separate order announced the removal of General Ihor Tantsyura, who had been in the post since May 2022. No reason was given for the decisions.

Barhylevych, 54, had since last year been serving as chief of staff of troops in eastern Ukraine, where fighting has been heavy.

Part of the armed forces, the Territorial Defence Forces’ roles include protection of critical facilities, combating sabotage and enemy intelligence forces, and maintaining security in Ukraine.

They must also ensure defence while the full deployment of the main armed forces is under way.

Are you being serious...

What do you think the implications are when he's calling for 'terrorist' organisations to be broadened out to states that back them as legitimate targets for the US.

This is really simple now: Ukraine are in the process of losing this war and Zelensky is looking to desperately salvage the situation by attempting to widen this out to a global conflict.

If anyone prior to his support for apartheid Israel thought he was some force for good they now have to drop that support and see this feller for what he is: a threat to stability of the rest of us.
I really do think you'll struggle find a Jew anywhere that's going to speak out against Isreal... I think people supporting Zelenski are intelligent enough to realise this.

No way I would vote for this part of the forum to be re-opened again - plough it into the soil and add plenty of salt.
It's a shame but I think that there is some really awful bigotry around the place and there are some staggeringly ignorant posts in the CA forum. Which is a terrible shame as it's for the most part a very good place to learn, ask questions and understand about what's going on in a civil way.

I totally agree, I mean I still visit a few threads because it's often a really good resource for getting up to speed on things. But, it's becoming that drunk uncle at the wedding - relentlessly ill-informed or willfully disingenuous and deliberately provocative.

Be arsed defending it a second time, just give @LinekersLegs her own thread for all the great stuff she posts make it read only and be done with it.
