I see that Putin is saying that the plane Prigozhin died in was done by someone on the plane setting off hand grenades, killing themselves and everyone else in the process. I’m sure we can all believe this piece of Russian nonsense…….

Yep, just like all those people falling out windows were just unfortunate accidents and the murder of 47 Ukrainian citizens was a false flag attack. Kev is a vile human being. He revels in Russian atrocities and smirks behind his computer when he hears that a 10 year old boy is dead from a Russian missile

A sign of the times...

Russia is seeking re-election to UN Human Rights Council next week - reports

Russia is seeking re-election to the UN’s top human rights body next week in what is seen as a crucial test of western efforts to keep Moscow diplomatically isolated over its invasion of Ukraine, Reuters reports.

Some diplomats are reported to have said Russia has a reasonable chance of getting voted back onto the UN Human Rights Council in Tuesday’s secret ballot, 18 months after it was ousted in a US-led drive.

“I think there is Ukraine fatigue. And second, many people do not want UN bodies to be dominated by Western voices, not to mention overbearing attitudes,” a senior Asian diplomat told Reuters.

Critics of Russia say its re-election while the nearly 20-month war in Ukraine still rages would wreck the credibility of the Geneva-based Council, seen as one of the more effective UN bodies.

The members of the human rights council are elected by the 193-nation general assembly in New York for three-year terms.

The March 2006 resolution that established the rights council says the assembly may suspend membership rights of a country “that commits gross and systematic violations of human rights”.

You have to say if that happens a week after the killing of 52 people in a missile attack yesterday, which looks this time to have been Moscow's work (unlike Kostiantynivka), then you have to say all attempts to isolate Russia have come to nought.

Even read in the Guardian that the Russians had taken more territory than Ukraine had regained which would have been unimaginable even a few weeks ago. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2023/oct/05/biden-us-strategy-russia-ukraine-war

Seeing as that links through to the New York Times, it appears that there is a weakening in support playing out on both sides of the Atlantic.

The mood music is starting to change with regards to supporting Ukraine. Critical times ahead.

TBF this was always going to happen with Ukraine if a quick victory wasn’t obtained.

It isn’t a betrayal, just a recognition that having a military capable of deterring an attack is essential to the continued existence of the state, and degrading it puts the state at risk.

To me it looks more like Poland are saying thanks Ukraine, Russia are no longer a military threat to us.

Will this take one week aswell Kev? I'd love to hear what your predictions are since you've been so accurate up until now

It’s okay, he warned us all, that we should be busy digging concrete fall out shelters in the back yard, as Vlad will be launching everyone of its nukes tomorrow, to celebrate his birthday.

Despite doing a letter drop, at every house in our street, I’m the only one, who’s started digging a tunnel from the house to the shed.
