A sign of the times...

You have to say if that happens a week after the killing of 52 people in a missile attack yesterday, which looks this time to have been Moscow's work (unlike Kostiantynivka), then you have to say all attempts to isolate Russia have come to nought.
It will mean there are some very evil people in power around this world. Imagine voting for that.

Two basic realities:

- It's not just Russia's money in this buy-votes game. It's also China's money, and they have been investing in spades for some time now.
- Most voters in the West are opposed to foreign aid in all its forms, and do not care about the UN votes or other policy outcomes it buys.

Western voters will not vote for what is necessary to carry votes in the UN any more than they would vote for FIFA if given the chance. The UN and FIFA have the same basic governance structure, with the same problems. It's neither one-man-one-vote nor one-dollar-one-vote, and in very skewed degrees with respect to both, so we should expect the latter to attempt to take advantage of the former.

I disagree with a lot of that second bit - there’s very little evidence that voters are opposed to foreign aid in “all its forms”; the amount of money raised privately via charities and by states is massive.

The fact that rags like the Mail and that other one devote years to slagging foreign aid off should tell you that they need to demonise it, which means it’s not demonised now.

I do think the West needs to do much more diplomatically, and we certainly need to get ahead of this movement for UN reform (personally I think advocating regional Security Council seats is the way to go there) but sayings it’s down to what Western electorates will tolerate is wrong imho.

More nonsense

Instead, concentrate and reflect on the humiliating failure of the counter offensive before encouraging more senseless slaughter of the people you purport to support.
Soooo reality is nonsense in your world?

Stick your head in the sand if you want - I’ll stick to the facts.

Also as you brought up the topic of senseless slaughter what have you to say about your fan-boy Putin’s attacks on innocent civilians yesterday at market, the hospital and the apartment block in Kharkiv?

They really dont need to take Tokmak, get close enough to the coast to cut off supplies and then its immaterial - like what the Allies did with French Atlantic sea ports after D-Day.
If they can interdict the rail line that runs through Tokmak I’d agree - it effectively neutralises the town. Push on past and the Russians are left there with no means of resupply.

my god

the utter evil of posters on this forum

mario nutjob and dublinrednose concoting murderous plans in their heads to send hundreds probably thousands of ukrainians to senseless death even as the whole house of cards collapses.
