“European leaders have rallied around the Ukrainian president in the face of US jitters over defence funding, promising to never waver in their support for the country.

The president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said the gathering of 47 European leaders was testimony to the strength of support in the fight to defeat Vladimir Putin.

“This a strong message for Putin from Dublin to Chișinău that we do not tolerate aggression against a sovereign state.”

Volodymyr Zelenskiy said it was imperative Europe remained united, after a Russian missile strike in the Kharkiv region killed dozens of people, including a six-year-old boy.

“The main challenge is to save unity in Europe not only in the EU but in all of Europe,” said Zelenskiy, warning of Russian “disinformation attacks”.

The gathering at the European Political Community (EPC) summit in Granada, Spain, gave leaders including the French president, Emmanuel Macron, the German chancellor, Olaf Scholz, and the British prime minister, Rishi Sunak, a chance to restate their commitment to Ukraine after political turbulence in the US and Europe raised questions about continued support”……

Putin made some important statements this afternoon. Most would be wise to listen carefully:

‘The Ukrainian crisis is not a territorial conflict. Russia is the largest country in the world in terms of territory. We have both Eastern Siberia and the Far East to deal with. It's not a territorial conflict. And not even about establishing a regional geopolitical balance. The question is much broader and more fundamental: we are talking about the principles on which the new world order will be based.’

- ‘The United States does not just set rules arbitrarily. But they also demand at the same time - by whom and how they should be fulfiled This is a manifestation of colonial thinking. We hear all the time: you have to, you have to, we warn you seriously. Who are you anyway? What right do you have to warn someone?’

- Let me remind you that in the Russian military doctrine there are two reasons for the possible use of nuclear weapons. The first is a counter blow, we respond to aggression. I want to assure you: the answer is absolutely unacceptable for any potential aggressor. In a retaliatory strike, so many hundreds of our missiles will appear in the air that no enemy will have a chance of survival. The second reason: the threat of the existence of the Russian state, even if conventional weapons are used against us.

- ‘ since June 4, Ukrainian units have lost more than 90 thousand people. These are irretrievable losses. 550 tanks.’
Strange statement to put out. Basically saying he won't use nukes unless Russia is invaded.

That essentially gives the green light for NATO to absolutely smash the troops which are in Ukranian territory. We will see in the next day or two whether Kev is right about this being a NATO war or not.

Deeds, not words are what required. EU (including us) military production needs to be at the US level as soon as possible.

Also Putin and Russia are guilty of exactly the same approach he accuses the US of taking.

So by his own actions in Ukraine, Chechnya, Georgia Syria and Africa, Russia too is acting like a colonial power. Also the amount of nuclear threats coming out of the Russian Duma and state media eclipse anything emanating from the west.

Right back at you Vlad

Who are you anyway? What right do you have to warn someone?’

Answer the question you cowardly, unloved simpleton.

Do you accept Russia killed these people in a targeted attack or do you think it was a false flag attack? If you do accept it was Russia, how do you feel about this murder of civilians?
He won’t answer that because Kev is not a human being. He’s a mindless cockroach

Old battlelines are being re-opened it appears. It was a alliance of convenience at best, and was never going to last. The Poles remember only too well the Ukrainian genocide committed against them.

Fairly obvious we are now entereing the end game as far as Europe is concerned and its appetite for 'moar war'
