@Kev The Rat
Your guys
Ok so you’ve moved away from a negotiated settlement as a realistic possibility ?
No, I'm stating that it won't all be on the Kremlin's present terms.Ok so you’ve moved away from a negotiated settlement as a realistic possibility ?
Yep, either way, we know it totally kills his made up bullS*#^He’ll either completely ignore it / declare it MSN propaganda or it‘s a dastardly plot by the West.
Yeh, that sounds fair! No, I'm stating that it won't all be on the Kremlin's present terms.
It'll take time for this to end up round the table but there's a deal to be done. They can afford to go back to the borders of pre-February 2022 if their demands are met by the international community: the lifting of sanctions, recognition of Crimea as part of Russia, a demilitarisation zone around the recently created Donetsk and Luhansk republics, and for Ukraine to sign a treaty of neutrality which endures never to join Nato.
Yeh, that sounds fair!
You’re a fantasist if you think the Z man accepts that.
Yeah, I saw that post, but I'm wondering what rationale you used to arrive at those figures?I made my estimates earlier based on number of amputee soldiers which according to Ukrainian estimates is around 25k (likely under reported for obvious reasons)
You can see the post I made about it if you look.
WW2 Germany - the number of amputees as a proportion of wounded was about 5%. So we are talking (low estimate) 500k wounded.Yeah, I saw that post, but I'm wondering what rationale you used to arrive at those figures?
From my quick search of the more recent major wars (Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan etc,) wounded appear to outnumber dead by a factor of around 10. I know amputees are not the same as wounded, but you appear to be claiming that dead outnumber amputees by a factor of about 15. (meaning only 1 in 150 wounded are amputees)
I'm not sure your rationale is valid, which is I asked about it.
Your last sentence is the clue here! For Russia to give up the land corridor to Crimea and withdraw the best part of 200,000 men will be huge. Ukraine's government for their part has to be realistic on its economy being pounded into the middle ages and it's men of fighting age being killed on an unsustainable level. If - as seems likely - the counter offensive doesn't split Russian forces then a deal needs cutting.
Some or all of what I listed will be the demands of the Russians.
so about 100,000 dead using your rationale?WW2 Germany - the number of amputees as a proportion of wounded was about 5%. So we are talking (low estimate) 500k wounded.
I am not sure Afghanistan and Vietnam are relevant comparisons due to the type of war being fought.
No chance its a 10-1 kill ratio in Ukraine. Closer to 4-1. but no lower.
more, we have to count MIA and POW in actual losses as well. totals about 35k that we know of. about 160k in total then.so about 100,000 dead using your rationale?
more, we have to count MIA and POW in actual losses as well. totals about 35k that we know of. about 160k in total then.
And remember the amputee figure is likely to be lowered to the bare minimum the Ukrainians can get away with releasing, which is fair enough for security purposes.

Sorry are you saying 25k amputees havent been declared by Ukraine? You aren’t counting anything kev, you are just making up figures and pretending that is evidence.
