you mean fight in the areas between 2014-2021 - which is what they were actually doing? No I dont think it was ok at all.
and still now most of the fighting frankly is in the areas the refs. covered. notice Putin hasnt moved forward to invade anywhere else beyond the 4 oblasts.
He has, as far as possible it appears to me, observed the outcome of the referendums.
The part I have bolded is the only one of yours I can see that I have snipped. Reading it again, I still don't see how it proves Russian law is valid in UkraineI have and you’ve obviously read it as you’ve purposefully cut it out of my quote
Sorry it wasn't in a reply to you, Charro asked the same question and my response to him included reference to the UN Charter and the right to self determination. The part I have bolded is the only one of yours I can see that I have snipped. Reading it again, I still don't see how it proves Russian law is valid in UkraineI appreciate you have a lot of people replying to your posts, so it is easy to get some mixed up.
So just for clarity, since Russian law is not valid outside Russia, and Russia hadn't annexed those regions until AFTER the referendum, why do you believe the referendums were legitimate?
that would be formal recognition by all countries at the UN of this?I'd have thought that would be an assurance that Ukraine never joins Nato and a redrawing of the border between Russia and Ukraine that looks pretty much as it would now if the front line were frozen.

I don't think that; I'm answering you when you ask what Russia's Volodin sees as their terms.that would be formal recognition by all countries at the UN of this?
Dave, they refuse to acknowledge Crimea 10 years after the fact, what makes you think they will be prepared to legitimize the present on the ground realities now? Its a fantasy mate.
Quite a profound statemt alongside Lavrov's at the UN, 'it'll be determined on the battlefield'. The Ukraine offensive has ground to a standstill and that's why there are calls for the building of 'defences, similar to the Russians' in an attempt to halt a Russian counter offensive.
Interesting comments from the man who’s probably the 4th most powerful person in Russia
Ukraine to either surrender on Moscow’s terms or cease to exist — top Russian lawmaker
According to him, the outcome of the "war of attrition" also includes economic problems in Europe and the US, a lack of manpower for the Ukrainian armed forces, and ultimately bankruptcy and demographic disaster for Ukraine. "These seven facts speak for themselves: Ukraine will cease to exist as a state unless the Kiev regime capitulates on Russia’s terms," Volodin stressed.
What he didn't explain is what Russia's terms are at this juncture.
What a load of nonsense, but we'll done for trying.Quite a profound statemt alongside Lavrov's at the UN, 'it'll be determined on the battlefield'. The Ukraine offensive has ground to a standstill and that's why there are calls for the building of 'defences, similar to the Russians' in an attempt to halt a Russian counter offensive.
The Ukrainian military are short on personnel and military equipment. They have been 'demilitarised' and can only 'keep going' with western supplied weapons.
Since the Russian military intervened directly into the Ukraine civil war, the westerm military 'experts' have spun the yarn that the Russian military are 'useless'. They've done that with the Russian casualty figures and destroyed weaponry. The latest being that the Russians have lost '250,000 soldiers and 750,000 injured, wounded or maimed'. The only semblance of accuracy for those figures are they are Ukraine losses. The Ukraine have done this right from the start when they've talked about losses on the battlefield, showing their own as Russian. You only have to see pictures of Ukraine graveyards to see the colossal scale of their losses. They are packed and new graveyards are required all the time. But the perceived military 'wisdom' is the Russians 'can't fight have low morale and are uselessly led'. Duly put forward by Ukraine propagandists fascist like Anton Gerashenko, who co-founded Myrotvorets which has a hit list of 'enemies of Ukraine' and includes people like Kissinger and hundreds of children. Who infamously said, 'collaborators are not protect by law and are being hunted down by our security services and being eliminated, shot like pigs'. That's the type of fascists some people love to quote. No doubt, UK institutes, which work closely with the UK government, will always do their paid duty and publicise the UK governments line, even if it is quoting Nazi's.
I suppose some will claim the Trudeau balloney excuse, 'I didn't know'. Of course some knew, seeing the government have prominent Canadians, of Ukraine heritage, in government. There's loads of monuments celebrating Ukraine WW2 'heroes' scattered around Canada. Even to Hunka's Waffen regiment. It's about time Canada denazified it's country.
I fully expect the Nazi Gerashchenko, to roundly condemn the celebration of Nazis in Canada and to produce pictures of Karydov"s state funeral and that of the Commander of Russia"s Black Sea Fleet.
However, propaganda may play a part in winning wars (debateable of course) but what happens on the battlefield is what counts on the end and the Ukraine military are shot to pieces. There only hope to survive as some sort of nation is to negotiate a peace deal. This is if the US Empire allows them to. A defeat for the IS Empire in Ukraine will propel the anti colonial, anti imperialist world wide moment forward, as it did in the 1970s after the Vietnam debacle and defeat. A semblance of this movement is the situation in Africa where French imperialism is being kicked out and there's pressure on the US to remove its hundreds of military bases.
In the Kherson region, the commission had found that “Russian soldiers raped and committed sexual violence against women of ages ranging from 19 to 83 years”.
Such acts were often accompanied by “threats or commission of other violations”, Mose said, adding that “frequently, family members were kept in an adjacent room, thereby forced to hear the violations taking place”.
