Here is an interesting synthesis of the data that exists on troop losses.

Yappa, yappa, yappa.

thats because you refuse to accept how this war is actually being fought

thats up to you, but read this hard core pro ukraine website before making wild claims about whats going on

this is no afghanistan

I think you have a fundamental misunderstanding of medicine and statistics here.

In WW2 and WW1, there were relatively fewer amputees as a % of overall casualties because most of the candidates for amputation would have died, so they’d be counted amongst the dead.

Medical science and improved military medical practice and technology has meant that more people with severe injuries can have the possibility of surviving them. This is meaning there are more people surviving as amputees now than in a perhaps comparable war like WW2/WW1.

from that website: The outlet, citing estimates by the Houp Foundation charity, notes that 200,000 people were seriously injured during the war, while amputations are frequently necessary in about 10% of major injuries.

Note: 200k serious injuries listed, so my estimation of 500k total wounded isnt out of line with what they are saying

1 in 4 kill/wounded rate is normal in this type of conflict.

I dont believe the total amputations is as low as 25k either.

From the findings of the above.

Russian sources report only 0.3 losses. On the contrary, for every Ukrainian soldier killed, Russian sources report 4.3 Ukrainian soldiers killed.

Interestingly, Ukrainian overestimates double Russian soldier deaths. But they tend not to over- or underestimate their own troops’ deaths

Also

Our estimates of losses

We find that Russian personnel losses have outpaced Ukrainian personnel losses, with expected loss numbers of 76,687 and 17,223 respectively, as of 23 February 2023.

This is a few months old but indicative of the realities on the ground.

So you are quoting their statistics whilst not believing them?
