Zelensky at the UN just now:

"It is alarming to see how some European countries play out solidarity in political theatre", referring to announcements by Poland, Slovakia and Hungary to impose their own restrictions on Ukrainian grain imports.

I honestly don't see what he's trying to achieve there.

If I was a citizen of one of those countries - especially Poland and Slovakia - I'd be furious with him given the amount of help the Ukraine and its refugees had received.

That's a clueless way to build a united front.

It is, especially given that the grain is not prevented from entering those countries - just from being sold there.

The EU are partly to blame. Never attempted to defuse the situation but just handed out an order to Hungary, Poland and Slovakia.

Well said. I'll debate with anyone in a civilised way. Its a pity that a couple can't.
No you don’t debate - you simply troll.

At least with Kevski you know he actually believes what he posts, unlike you. You decide on a forum angle (one that’s designed to conflict and generate fume) and you run with it.

That approach is all fine and dandy on the Everton forum but this is an extremely emotive subject that deeply affects a lot of people on here. So to use this particular forum as a personal playground for yourself is wrong and you deserve to be called out for your antics.

It wasn't an order, they just said the ban they imposed (at the request of Poland et al) wouldn't continue. They could have done more to help (buying the Polish / Slovakian grain etc and then sending it on to those countries experiencing food strife).

Excuse me that is bollocks. D'you think only you gives a care about this issue...

Do me a favour and put me on ignore. Thanks.

Care to elaborate on the scenario that happens under...
Manpower on both sides will become exhausted. Not just Ukraine but Russia will have a lost decade of able-bodied workers. The Russian economy will implode due to ineffective alliances to be formed as the West will remain suspicious with any future dealings with them after Putin is laid to rest. Many markets will remain closed to the regular population, but the wealthy elitists will bounce back due to a thriving black-market environment.

I think a deal on that basis should be the case mate. Both sides are staggering with the weight of this conflict and should be scrambling to the negotiating table.

Zelensky has just spoke of a deal at the UN just this last hour, but I doubt the nature of it will suit Moscow.

There has to be a third party that steps in and forces a deal. Only the US can drag Ukraine to the table and probably if China make it clear to Putin that a deal must be struck that'll persuade them or they'll fear isolation.

china are happiest with an isolated russia, it helps north korea along and the chinese continue to get exclusive cut price access to russian energy and other produce.
