I think it's fragmenting a bit though. Politically speaking. You can see that in Europe and it wont be long until the US elections kick in and we'll see a possible changing of the guard there. It looks bleak right now but all things change.
Dave it won’t change a thing. Russia is at a point of no return. It will only get worse until they get bored with it. Your friend Kev only knows what he is being spoon-fed.
Let’s see how the Elite Paratroopers do. If they change the tide then advantage Putin but he will be stretched in a foreign land open to domestic attack.
Let’s see how the lines are drawn before the rainy season. If Tokmak falls Ukraine gets an important win and puts Russia on their heels.

There’s no rational answer to this. I just can’t believe given the failure of the counter offensive that the logic is even being defended
Well concedering russias goal was to take 100% of Ukraine and now they only control 17% including what they controlled before the invasion, I think it's a bit silly of you to be talking about who and what's failed.. although it's plausible that you still believe that russia giving up on Kiev was actually a goodwill gesture.

The lines of control have barely moved for a year

The biggest gains from Ukraine came in November last year (less than a year ago) from its peak control Ukraine has liberated over 50% of lands that were taken after the invasion... the blowing of the dam slowed things down immensely it ment that russia had a huge area not in need of defending, just another act proving Russia has little regard for anyone man woman or child living down stream of the dam.. and these are the animals you are cheering on.

I am cheering on nothing. You are cheering on the deaths of thousands and thousands of Ukros for, by your own admission, almost no gains in a year.

You are claiming the withdrawal from Kiev as a gain in your 50% - which was Russia's decision, there was no 'pressure' militarily from the Ukros remember, fair enough but that's over 18 months ago now.
