Difference is, you have an entrenched viewpoint, which you think makes you look clever. I think Putin is a bit evil, but do not understand fully why he invaded, natural resources notwithstanding. No, I have given you reasons but you decided none of them are valid. Yet your yourself subsequently accuse me of being an idealogue.

At least I accept things for what they are and acknowledge the west is trying force its ambitions/desires on everyone else as part of a completely rational game plan. What will be required is for everyone else to come up with /devise a game plan of their own to counter this. Hopefully we will see more and more countries stand up to this and the actions of the g20 today give me hope in that regard.

Ukraine is just a side show albeit one which has serious cultural and security issues for Russia that it’s being forced to address.

I’ve just explained that personally I view Ukraine as a minor sideshow in all this into which my view Russia were forced (possibly purposefully) by western actions to become embroiled in. I say purposefully as the west will have understood that a provocation there for all sorts of reasons (none of which you apparently view as credible) could not go unanswered by Russia

Putin and Hitler have absolutely nothing in common. To date Putin has done nothing more than try and restore order in the south east corner of a neighbouring state. He has no possibility or desire of making any territorial claims elsewhere
