Personally I would say at the least the regions who want to be in Russia are now in it.

Next issue is preventing ukro attacks and shelling on these poor people and that takes time.

If you take away what they already occupied before this invasion then Russia really hasn't achieved much either.. I'd be willing to bet that this war ends with Russia controlling only what they had already controlled a net gain of zero lands.. but plenty of death on both sides.
As for formally integrated regions, no election in war ravaged areas is a formal integration it's at best a sham.

it now occupies much of the areas it actually cares about - namely the eastern regions who have for years been desperate to get away from the Kiev regime

There’s a few dodgy knees and hips in there most days, but we’d give it a go
