It could be said at this point that a long drawn out war suits Russia currently.

They get to point fingers at the evil West for longer and get more people on their side.

It might benefit the Russian elite but ordinary Russians wont want the sacrifices.

The western military are getting what they want out of this conflict: a real life war laboratory for them to observe how new weapons systems perform and tactics develop with the possibility that especially the U.S. may be squaring up to Chinese forces in the future.

It was mentioned earlier that the USA is going to send depleted uranium weaponry to Ukraine.

A further billion dollar package to be announced.
What a step forward for mankind.

Cluster bombs and depleted uranium missiles. It's a good job they're being sent by the 'greatest democracy' in the world otherwise they could end up damaging military AND civilian poulations. Luckily democratic bombs dont have dust particles that will be inhaled by civilians.

No doubt to coincide with the Ukrainian offensive picking up pace behind enemy lines. Pick off the remaining tanks etc.

You do realise The evil West didnt start this?

Yes, there is that strain in Ukrainian society. However, as with everwhere else, the vast majority of people of all nations just want peace and prosperity.
I dont know about the vast majority in the Ukraine Dave

Actually I dont think its the vast majority or even the majority in fact that want peace with Russia.

You cannot conduct a war on this scale without mass support of the population, unless you are the USA, Russia or China. Countries with the resources to carry out this kind of conflict regardless of popular opinion

Opinion polls in Ukraine show they want the war to continue.

Hundreds of thousands of Ukros are voluntarily killing themselves in the name of ultra nationalist Banderism.

I would like to think if we ever invaded that people here would fight for their country.

But they wouldnt, they would tut and call the brave soldiers flag shaggers.

Not that anybody is ever invading a nuclear equipped country like.

Aboslutely no idea why the Ukros thought it a good idea to send drones to Moscow

The outcome for them is a more united Russian people and of course this kind of military response.
Utter rubbish as per

What is the strategic reasoning for responding to a drone attack on military transport planes and airfield with a missile attack on a civilian shopping street?

Not that the two events actually have any actual correlation.

In other news it appears Ukrainian armed forces are almost withinh HIMARS range of the Black Sea.

Russian commanders in Tomak are beginning to evacuate.

What is the strategic reasoning to hit Moscow city buildings? Which has happened.

I personally think Moscow city is actually fair game.

As this market was under the circumstances.
